Family Fishing Trip/Spring Break
This is definitely a "fish camp" that can hold a large family. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Host offered to have the cleaner come back but did not get the feeling it would make a lot of difference. At time of booking, the listing stated it had a hot tub. This was not the case. When I asked about it, host found an error on listing incorrectly showing a Spa on property. Be aware tile floor is uneven in places and if you are not careful it will trip you. I almost took a header into the washing machine when getting ready to check out today.

A group of 6 friends stayed at the property during a week of fishing on Lake Okeechobee. It is well suited for a group of guys that can overlook the fact that the place needs a deep clean. The public boat launch is a 3 minute drive and there are a couple of pubs, gas station, Dollar General and other amenities within a couple miles. The living room with big screen TV was comfortable. The screened in porch is a great gathering place and there are lots of beds and bathrooms to keep everyone happy.

Would be a fine hunting and fishing cabin back when I was still in the USMC.
Not really fit for the family. We spent an hour cleaning. Had to kill multiple cock roaches and buy new shower liners. The ones in the house had a decades worth of mold.

Overall Good Experience
House in in a good location to fish out of Lakeport. Internet and TV worked great which is hard to find in that area. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of boat / trailer parking. Layout is a little funky but it is a rustic fishing lodge.

This rental is located in a prime spot for anyone looking to fish the Big O. The launch is only about a mile away and the canal dumps out at Harney Pond. It’s a short distance from there to other areas like Monkey Box and North Shore. Lake levels were extremely low at the time of our trip, but George and Kristy went above and beyond expectations to make sure we had a pleasant trip. I would definitely look to rent from them again in the future at this or one of their other locations.

Perfect for large or small group looking for authentic hunting/fishing lodge experience.
As an advid outdoorsman that hunt and fish. I have stayed in many cabins and lodges all over this wonderful country. This cabin has the rustic appeal wanted with all of the modern amenities needed for comfort. Fully furnished open kitchen/dining room that leads into a large living room complete with a fireplace, cable TV with plenty of seating for a large group with a half bath and washer/dryer just off the living/kitchen area. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths with comfortable sleeping for 12. Outdoors amenities has an open deck and a screened in covered deck with ceiling fans and plenty of seating that is great for gathering with family and friends for drinks, dinner, games or just enjoying the weather while telling your fish tails of the day. With an outdoor charcoal grill and fish fryer for your daily catch, this adds to your cabin adventures. George and Kristy were awesome. Had great communication throughout our stay making sure that our experience was going as expected making us feel like we were at our home away from home. See you again next year.

The perfect sportsman's getaway!
Truly enjoyed our second trip in George and Kristy's Lakeport cabin. The cabin is in the perfect Lake Okeechobee location with the best fishing the lake offers 5 minutes away. 10 KY fisherman send our thanks and will see you next year!

Super comfortable place to stay, plenty of truck / trailer parking. Lots of room inside.
This house is just like being at home, a large family room to relax and watch TV after fishing all day, great kitchen, grill inside a screened in porch. The house is the PERFECT 'Old Florida' fish camp! The house is just a few minutes away from the Harney Pond Canal boat ramp so you can be on the water in no time!

Great spot for fishermen!
This cabin is very convenient to the lake and had lots of room for us to spread out. Our group was there for a fireworks festival, so fishing wasn't in our plan. We were close to our event, which was perfect! The house is clean and George & Kristi we're wonderful to work with. Very easy to contact and very accommodating.

Everything and everybody (neighbors) including George where a big help.
This was a fishing trip with friends and everything, location and facilities where great. The only issue was shower curtain. Plenty of parking and launching facilities within minutes of house. Yes we are considering again next spring.

Had a fantastic time at the perfect fishing getaway!
Had a 6 night stay at George and Kristys cabin in lakeport. Absolutely a perfect place for a large group (or small) for fishing or hunting. Had everything we needed and we even caught lots of fish. Highly reccomended!! Just wish we could have followed George around the lake!!

Rustic, super relaxing location away from the hustle and bustle of working.
Very relaxing and quiet area. We felt like it was home after a couple of days. Clise to several sites we could fish from shore, close to casino and an overall great getaway!
