"Overnight meet up in Lancaster but this hotel was absolutely perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our remote control and were offered several options to help, including the offer of a different room to see if the TV was any better there. 5min walk to station. 2min walk to castle. Central location for town with a selection of eateries. Beds were extremely comfortable. Possibly some more hooks in the room would be useful to hang coats. Also hook on bathroom door would be handy The hotel is obviously of its age and clearly has a lot of history so it might seem a little dated but it was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Not sure how much use the Crypt (downstairs bar) gets but it would make a great spa!! All in all a really lovely stay. . "

"Clean room but awkward to get to from reception. Some dust apparent. Bathroom very small with WC hard against the tiles and uncomfortable. Bathroom fan very noisy. Bathroom clean and well equipped. Staff very nice. Parking haphazard. One bed of the twin was collapsing at one corener/missing a foot?It wasn't obvious how to get into the hotel from the main road. Hotel in need of a lot of TLC and looks shabby from the outside."

"We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The pool was fantastic for children and open from 7-7. A lovely touch to have a child’s welcome pack. The duck food was a lovely idea too and our daughter really enjoyed it. A great base to explore with the aquarium, steam boat and steam train on the doorstep. About to 10-20mins from other shops. "

"Lovely place, lodge was clean, had everything you would need, over looking the lake, space for parking car too, we went swimming which was great, took the kids in the games room which they enjoyed, had two meals in the Restaurant, they were lovely and you get alot, we had a nice two break and very relaxing."

"For the price we paid for two adults and two children for a night's stay the accommodation was perfect. Arrived early and our room was already ready for us, staff really good, entertainment in main bar good. Would definitely recommend hotel to anyone and as we've been before would definitely return ourselves."
