It is well equipped for cooking (we made 2 dinners) and there a is great selection of food nearby at the Super U. It is especially quiet at night which we appreciated. Somehow I neglected to include our grandson when making the reservation but Jocelyn was most gracious and accommodating of my mistake. "The house is NOT appropriate for winter rental letting. The main room's only heating system is the old fashionned fire place. The house is not insulated at all. There are gaps around the doors which we tried to block with our sleeping bags; there was no functionning heaters in any of the bedrooms. The first two nights stay the thermometer registered 8 degrees! The manager, Wendy Williams, promptly brought extra wood and elelctrical heaters. Unfortunately, the heaters tripped the electrical...

"A very characterful property. Conveniently close to la Roche sur Yon yet located in a peaceful, rural location. We loved the attention to detail made in the renovation of the property including the equisitely engineered ironwork handles and stair rail handmade by the owner. Outside there is a lovely terrace and a rambling kitchen garden to explore alongside a trickly stream. Perfect for a family plus grandparents or 2 families to share. We had a very comfortable stay.
