"Astoundingly good accomodations near Newcastle. A teensy bit out of the way, in a very quiet suburb. But, wow. Wow! "During our 5-day trip to Hunter Valley and Port Stephens, this hotel was by far the best choice we made. For our anniversary trip, the hotel staff upgraded us to the Hunter Suite and surprised us with a lovely bottle of local sparkling wine—such a thoughtful touch! We also had dinner at Botanica, one of their associated restaurants, located about a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The meal was excellent and well worth the trip. The pool area is very dated and bar near pool was closed during the busy Christmas/ NY period which was disappointing.
