"A well appointed charming old farmhouse in a quiet pastoral setting with a small lake on the property. Close to town and ski areas. House was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Host was easy to communicate with and helpful. He suggested we check in early as snow was forecast in the afternoon. We were 3 generations with a total of 6 of us. The 4 bedrooms and 6 beds ensured everyone had their own bed. Kids enjoyed playing in the snow. Overall an excellent stay. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a sizeable home in a quiet country setting close to town. Definitely deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating. "

"Maison Berkshires was the most perfect gathering place for this group of 7 friends and 1 fury companion. Time was spent cooking and enjoying our time around the wonderful dining room table or talking late into the night in the living room while we sipped on wine and cocktails. We were blessed with a beautiful snow fall that allowed us to bask in the beauty of this part of Massachusetts in the winter time. Because of the weather we had to cancel a dinner at Prairie Whale, one of favs in Great Barrington. Still all of us were just as happy to stay warm in our comfy clothes and enjoy extra time in this awesome farm house, with wonderful hosts in Augustin and Michelle. Can’t wait to do it again!!! "Pro: Lovely farm house and piece of property. Quiet and private. The owner is very responsive and made an accomodation for my arrival a day early. He also sorted some issues I had upon arrival. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are nicely finished and furnished Cons: As explained to me by the owner, they just had a long term tenant move out. Would be great if the owners made a trip to the house. A full kitchen inventory is in order. Making even a simple spaghetti dinner not really feasible in what is a large kitchen with high end appliances. No sheet pan, no pot large enough to boil water in for pasta, 3 terrible old knives. No knife block or steak knives. Drawers full of unorganized and badly tarnished silverware: not in a shabby chic way. ALL of the dishes, pots and pans need to be taken out of cupboards and cleaned. This will sound petty but a 10 digit door code is never going to be something anyone can remember. Will require keeping your phone with you every time you leave the property. We found the NEST thermostats difficult to program, no instructions on site. Broken dining chair. Limited TV seating for a house that sleeps 8. We were only 4, but 3 of them tall guys... I had several text threads with Vacasa, I have rented through their management before and in both instances communication is bad. Useless actually. This house is so close to being an awesome rental..."
