"We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. "It’s the coziest of cabins snuggled into the mountains! Close (40ish min drive) to Shenadoah National park for great hiking. A ten minute drive to its own cute little downtown. Do not recommend suicases with wheels, only pack duffle bags as the entrance to the cabin is up a few rocky steps- nothing that hindered us but did see noted in other reviews. "

"The cozy cabin had lots of wonderful charm. The outer room had a sauna and a fireplace. The windows were great with a perfect view of the snow. The porch had a very nice with a big hot tub. The bed room was nice with a reading area and the living room has a great TV. We were greeted with cookies and a bottle of the good stuff. I would recommend this cabin and we cannot wait to go back. "We are a group of Civil War reenactors that were in town for the Battle of Cedar Creek reenactment. The house and property are beautiful and clean. There was a small issue with the electricity that was resolved quickly. Some of the outside lights (dusk/dawn light above main stairs) didn’t come on. Overall, we highly recommend this house and property. The gorgeous location and beautiful house make for a great getaway. "

Generally, it was comfortable and the views of the river are beautiful. The whole house was well stocked with just about anything we needed that we forgot to bring. I would have loved it more during warm weather but even during the winter, it was comfortable. "
