The lodge offered two free meals to compensate, and the staff was fired. Unfortunately, we also had another incident where two bats flew into our room and mosquitos nets, tried calling the reception desk via what’s app but nobody replied for two hours, then the power was out, the internet was cut. "You pay high $ value for this hotel and the first thing is the half mile road leading to hotel is nothing but pot holes and absolutely rugged. Entering the reception area, there was not enough light to fill in the forms, etc. Amenities in the room were less than adequate. Poor lighting and just one plug to use your charger hair dryer etc. BTW, no hair dryer. "

"For the money it is a good location. Not far from Paraa where it is 3-4 times more this hotel ot is a bargain. With little improvement could be a super deal. Even so it is a good deal. "I really enjoyed the hippos grazing at night. The staff also built us a bonfire the first night we were there and we were able to eat around it. The biggest problem was they said we were not expected ( even though my name was clearly on their guest list) and that they did not know we had a 6 year old with us. They were very confused at first and did not know how to handle the situation. One man was very unfriendly."

"The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, the property elected to keep the generator off unless meals were being prepared. Lights were operational, but the fan, electrical outlets, and water heater were all rarely operating. I could not open the windows because the mosquito net was too small for the bed. With the hot weather, the temperature in the room was miserable overnight. I will not stay there again."

"I am really, really tired of hotels claiming that they have ‘free wifi’ (I stay in hotels >300 nights per year). This hotel had only intermittent electricity (so no power to the small fan in the room at night). In 48 hour stay perhaps 2 hours of connectivity.
