"We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. "There are many different choices of onsens in the ryokan. The staff are excellent as well, their english proficiency is one of the best I’ve seen as well. Although there were some incidents at the start when we check in, the staffs are very efficient at dealing with it. Overall I’ll recommend anyone who visits Kurokawa onsen to give this ryokan a try"

"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. We used Google maps and got there without difficulty. We were thankful to have a 4WD and snow tires, because there was ice on parts of the road. Highly recommend the place!"
