Of many Vrbo’s rented over the years, this was the dirtiest house and worst host.
Insects, dust & dirt were in every corner of every room. Gnats stuck in cobwebs on ceiling in dining rm & all over window sills. Gnats stuck to the grease on stove hood vent & all over the kitchen cabinets. Had to clean before we cooked. Black mold mentioned by a previous renter is still above sink. Floor under bathtub, all beds & closets very dirty. Shower curtain liners should be replaced with each renter, they were disgusting. Liners touch you while showering. Master bdrm headboard had finger prints in layer of dust. Amenities list paper towels, pot holders & dish towels provided, but they were not. Only 1/2 a paper towel roll was there, and we had to buy more cuz we ran out. Bath towels had holes in them. And here’s the best part…
Accidentally left my Bluetooth speaker hanging from clock in the living rm. Contacted James same day to let him know. Asked if he could ship to me. He said he wld have cleaning crew check & get back to me. This was on Sun. After not hearing from him for several days, I reached out again on Wed. He said no update from cleaning crew. He asked me what I left behind again even though all info was in text thread. Had to call him on Fri morning to ask for update again. He said “oh, the cleaning crew said they did not find it-sorry.” I said I know it was left there cuz we listened to music the night before we left. In frustration, I said I was disappointed that he waited so long to react to my request & the cleaning crew must’ve taken it, because I knew exactly where it was left. James then proceeded to yell that I was falsely accusing his cleaning crew of taking the speaker. And, it was not them, it cld have been the next group that stayed in the house. I told him I was disappointed that he didn’t at least check with the next group that rented the house. He also proceeded to tell me that it was my fault, he had a death in the family, and my speaker was not a priority for him. He then hung up on me. Same afternoon he texted that the cleaning crew found my speaker. He did not even apologize for lying to me that morning! However, in the spirit of human decency, I thanked him & asked what to do next to get shipped. He did’nt respond until Mon & then gave me less than 4 hrs to Venmo shipping money. He said cuz of how I treated him, he was done & disposed of the speaker. Nice customer service, right? Caution to anyone who rents from this guy!
