"Cute, renovated hotel in the heart of downtown. Fireplace in lobby was great on a cold night. Staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Bathroom was updated but it took a long time to get less than hot water in the shower. Biggest issue was lack of sound proofing. The room doors open right into the hall (no hall/bathroom buffer like newer hotels) and you can hear every conversation outside your room. We could also hear the alarm of the person across the hall going off for over an hour. ...

"The views of the mountains at first morning light were breathtaking!We took a two-day trip to take in the views and test our luck at ski/snowboarding at Hatley Pointe! Turns out we need lots of practice.. Upon arriving at the cabin, I didn’t want to leave! The hot tub was a refreshing reset after a long day on the slopes. The views… you just have to witness them yourself, trust me.If you are looking for a quiet, stay for you and maybe a few others (surprisingly very spacious) look no further! "

Peaceful Getaway

"My daughter and I stayed for our annual 2 week vacation away from "the guys". Bear's Den is everything we needed to recharge. The property and home are great. We spent a great deal of time outside painting, birdwatching, and reading. Listening to the river running was so relaxing. House has just about everything you need. The hot tub was perfect for after a hike. There are neighbors within view, but far enough away to still feel secluded. Just a wonderful place to get away and drown yourself in nature. "

"Our family had the opportunity to travel to NC for a week this fall and found this amazing spot. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and everything was spic and span. The yard was fully fenced so our big old dog could roam. 10/10 No notes. "

Owner made all the difference

"Initially, the property did not have clean bedsheets in the master bedroom, and there was some other cleaning issues. It turns out there was a communication issue w the cleaner but the home owner came to replace the sheets and make the bed. He cleaned up the other little things and returned our cleaning fee. Besides this, the actual property is very neat, cozy and in a nice area. The road up to the property is dirt, so a suv with all wheel drive and some ground clearance might be best. The hot tub, grill and outdoor fireplace are a really nice touch to the scenic mountains in the distance. Overall, my family enjoyed their stay and I think this rental is deserving of 5 stars, because of the owner despite initial impressions."

"We loved the amenities available- the pool and hot tub, Nintendo, pop-a-shot, pool table….perfect for teenagers. Short drive to Asheville, mountains, trails, white water rafting, ropes courses, and more. Everything was so easy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"Beautiful place, wonderful deck with beautiful view, so serene. Would prefer 4 th bedroom to be in main house, but just a wonderful place to stay. Kids had room to ride bikes in drive even. Thank you."
