THE COTTAGE:
This incredible WATERFRONT property sets on approximately 2 acres and is nestled on the shores of Majestic Lake Superior between Grand Marias, Minnesota & Thunder Bay, Ontario. What makes this property unique is how the house is perched on a slope overlooking the lake, which provides the feeling from inside of being literally on the water whilst offering the most incredible views. The Cottage is along “The Lake Superior Circle Tour”, which is a 1,300 mile self-guided tour around The Largest Fresh Water Lake in the World - LAKE SUPERIOR! Visible here are Lake Superior's many islands & inlets not seen on the Minnesota side with AMAZING views!

Could this be "the best kept secret" along the North Shore?

MAKE NO MISTAKE! The house is directly ON the shore of Lake Superior. No road or path intersects or obstructs the house from the lake. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! Because there is absolutely NOTHING (NOTHING!) like being on the SHORE of Lake Superior and experiencing the powerful waves of The Great Gitche Gumee (Big Sea). Listen to the waves crash along the coastline with lucky YOU being its captive audience. Or be lulled to sleep as the water plays along the shoreline. It is truly magical.

The Cottage offers significant savings to American guests with much lower rental rates and a currency exchange rate of between -25-35%* that beacons to those who have not yet ventured past Grand Marais, MN. WHAT are you waiting for? Travel approximately 1 hour* North of Grand Marias, MN and SAVE on accommodations, entertainment, food and adventures in beautiful Canada! The Cottage is absolutely perfect for those living in or near Thunder Bay in need of a quick escape or for North Shore adventurers looking for a very private Lake Superior experience amongst nature's most incredible canvas with ALL the comforts of home. And breathe...

The Cottage provides a very private, safe, cozy escape for 1-4 persons and is appreciated by couples and those traveling solo - especially women. Come prepared to create your own memories that are sure to last a lifetime. Welcome! Bienvenue!

ONE-LEVEL-LIVING:
The Cottage allows you to indulge in all the things you love with an updated fully-equipped kitchen, stainless appliances and separate dining & living areas. Satellite Internet provides FREE high speed, unlimited connection to the rest of the world while providing entertainment via large Samsung televisions w/ FREE Netflix & Amazon movies. Two bedrooms are tucked away so guests can escape to a private space when desired. Heated “under blankets” at the foot of the beds in cooler months add an extra level of comfort & coziness. A large bathroom hosts a shower/tub combination, lighted mirror w/ lots of fresh, hot water & excellent water pressure. One-level living makes it easy for everyone - especially those with physical limitations.

MAIN LIVING AREA:
Large windows absolutely flood the interior with light while vaulted ceilings provide an open, spacious feel. The entire space frames Lake Superior, which always commands and deserves full attention. Count one million stars or search for the Northern Lights on a clear, dark night or curl up on the large sectional sofa with a favorite book. Please do not forget the popcorn because there is plenty of opportunity to catch up on those movies you never have time to watch with free Netflix/Amazon & a large selection of DVD classics. The gas fireplace adds on-demand heat via thermostat and coziness on a cool evening. This really is the perfect time and space to have the freedom to do whatever you want.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS:
Could the outdoor spa be the perfect place to enjoy a starlit night showered under the Northern Lights? Well, YES! The spa (hot tub) is located just out the front door on the deck overlooking Lake Superior. Could there be a more perfect place for it? Well, NO! Perhaps you prefer to wrap up in a woolen blanket next to the outdoor fire table on the front deck during a cool, summer evening or crisp autumn night? It is your time. Your choice.

Of course we love options so there just happens to be this well lit meandering path from the house that leads to an outdoor wood-burning fire pit close to the shoreline - so maybe don’t forget the marshmallows? Here you will also find OUR favorite: THE LOWER DECK. The Lower Deck literally hangs over Lake Superior and provides the most INCREDIBLE panoramic views. Watch the sailboats and loons pass by on a summer day and get your daily dose of vitamin D any time of year. There is something very powerful about being surrounded by The Great Gitche Gumme that can make one feel so small in the presence of a lake so big.

Great View
If you are looking for a cozy cabin with a great view of Lake Superior, look no further. It was awesome to sit in the hot tub and look out at the lake. There was also a deck over the shore to just watch the waves or catch a spectacular sunset or sunrise. Overall, highly recommended.

Goregeous view and super comfortable cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is cozy, well-appointed, clean, and has all the amenities one could desire. Communication was very good with the owner, and we appreciated the tips on some things to keep in mind when crossing the border from the US to Canada (no bear spray!). Would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous, inside and out
A beautiful cottage home in a gorgeous setting surrounded by birch trees, private from neighbors, right on Lake Superior. Beautifully decorated and well appointed with lots of thoughtful touches like the bevy of spices for cooking, two coffeemakers (filters provided), LED candles, vented fireplace for heating, and so many more. Comfortable and quiet, the perfect getaway to unwind. Believe the description and reviews, it’s a gem.

5 Star Wonderful!
We’ve stayed at many vacation properties through out the years. This one takes the cake though! It’s extremely clean, organized and updated. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beyond being a wonderful home though, the location takes it over the top. It’s right on the shore of Lake Superior with amazing views. Add to that all the Mink Mountains outside your door - this stay will be hard to beat anywhere else. Don’t hesitate to book here. You won’t be disappointed!

Comfy Getaway!
This is an incredibly clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay right on Lake Superior. The amenities are wonderful: a hot tub on the deck for watching the sun rise in the morning, a patio over the water, bonfire pit and sunny places to sit (especially in warmer weather!). Perfect for unwinding!

Beautful view
The view was amazing! The porch was good. The hot tub was nice, but a little low on water. The speed at getting hot tap water was GREAT! Since there was no dishwater, my hubby (the dish washer) was a little disappointed in the size of the dish rack. Although there’s two acres, there’s still moderately close neighboring houses easily seen in winter. The owner was very responsive which we appreciated.

The cottage was a beautiful getaway that I highly recommend. It is very quiet, no city or traffic noise at all so you can relax and hear nothing but the water of Lake Superior. Cottage is very clean, bright and has every last detail to make your stay cozy. From decor and automatic evening lighting both inside and out, to crisp towels and soft bedding. Everything is there to make you feel cozy and at home.

Restorative
My husband, brother and I savored our week's stay. The cottage was immaculate, the kitchen provided all we needed for preparing our meals. And the views of Lake Superior were spectacular. With the bedroom window open a bit and the sound of the waves I slept like a baby. We enjoyed the multilevel decks, especially the one that reached out over the water. Such a good space for reading and restoring. Although we didn't fish - we purchased local ly caught fish at a fish market in Thunder Bay. We enjoyed some lovely hikes and sites in the area including Kakabeka Falls and Trail, the Fort Williams Historical Park, hiked parts of the James Duncan Nature Trail, and explored Prince Arthur Marina. The owner was very attentive to our communications. We have spent considerable time staying near Gran Marais on the U. S. side - my wish to go "further up" to avoid tourists and to experience a more wilderness feeling was abundantly fulfilled. Definitely a place to return to.

Beautiful, Clean, Private Cottage with Gorgeous View
We had a great week in this private, immaculately clean cottage. Cottage had everything we needed. Thick woods on both sides of the property screen you from other cabins/houses. We enjoyed the hiking trails nearby, but mostly we can't say enough about the beautiful view of the lake. Lots of birds and wildlife - a cormorant came and perched on the dock one morning, and we saw baby merganzers, bald eagles, loons, and more. We ventured into the Thunder Bay area, about a 40 minute drive to Fort William, Kakabeka Falls, and grocery stores. Bakery on Boundary is a must-visit. Thanks for a relaxing week!

Just as stated
Everything was as described in the listing. We were given great directions to find it. Absolutely lovely place, quiet area with near by trails. Only suggestion would be to put out pamphlets and information on area attractions in the main area somewhere. They were tucked away in the laundry area which we didn't open right away.
