"We absolutely loved our week at the Green Shutters. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in the pool, we found the gîte very comfortable, and Gers is definitely an undiscovered gem of a region. And to top it off Ron and Ann are wonderful hosts!"

"Séjour agréable, la résidence de plein air est agréable et bien entretenue. En revanche, on a eu beaucoup de difficultés à les joindre car il s'est avéré que leur box était HS, pas possibilités de faire les CB, (caution et paiement), et on n'a pas pu du tout joindre l'établissement pour préparer notre arrivée, et cela nous a valu des sueurs froides, car on ne savait pas comment récupérer les clefs -, sachant que c'était un dimanche . On a dû changer notre agenda, pour arriver pendant les heures...

"So much room to spread out, both inside and outside this manoir, lofty ceilings, huge fireplaces, history abounds at Quatre Vents. The pool is magnificent and clean, the bar and pizza oven are great fun and perfect for entertaining on the long hot evenings in this part of the world, fresh figs from the garden etc… Thank you for a perfect stay."

"Week end d’anniversaire surprise pour ma maman. Nous étions huit et avons passé un excellent moment dans cette location. Quelques balades, des bons repas à profiter au soleil sur la terrasse, des jeux de sociétés à l’intérieur lorsqu’il pleuvait… beaucoup de place dans cette grande maison idéale pour ce genre d’événement!! Hôte très accueillante, sympathique et disponible."

"The area was a little remote, but the house was exactly as described and plenty big enough for 3 family groups with a wide range in children’s ages. The outside areas worked brilliantly well, plenty of shade or sun as required. The area was really peaceful and we had deer wandering around the area. The property owner was really helpful with all our questions and responded really quickly. If I’m being picky due to the heatwave we would have appreciated. Air con in the downstairs bedrooms....

"The hotel was as described and a lot better than some of the rather mean reviews !! Staff were friendly, and easy going, no rush, the breakfast was as described and plentiful. This is not a 4 star hotel its budget and worked perfectly for me. It does what it says on the tin !! Its great value and so near the railway station , yet on a quiet side street. "This was merely a stop off as it was close to Bas-Armagnac where we had a distillery tour. While we are more interested in French charm, this was more of a modern property but was perfect for our purposes. The room was huge and very clean with a pool view. The bathroom was awesome and even had a tub. The lobby area was nice and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend the property."

"Only comment would be that there were a lack of power outlets in the foom & the bathroom would benefit from some tlc. The bar & restaurant were not open. I'm led to believe seasonal opening although on Hotels.com said that they were on site however should gave advised if open or not"

Self-check in, no humans

"I stayed here because there was a pool. When I arrived about 8 or 9pm there was a self-check-in at the gate. I was not sent a code, but a friend who spoke French called and got it for me. It was not sent through Hotels.com or by email. Without calling I would have not been able to stay here at all and would have been far from Agen with no room. It is VERY FAR from Agen, not in Agen as listed on the hotels.com site. The pool was covered for the night and opened at 8am the next morning. Check-out was at 10. There is no ice machine, no refrigerator, no hotel staff. I got up at 8 to use the pool for an hour. When I checked out the hotel front desk person called a cab for me. It was about 30 euro to get back to Agen. This is the only person I spoke to during my entire stay and she was lovely and helpful and understanding of my baby French as I counted on my fingers to tell her my room number. If you aren't prepared for this odd system, you will not be able to check-in if you arrive late. There is an elevator. There is no communication with guests. Pool is very small and was being cleaned during the one hour I was able to use it during my stay. I swam anyway, but the vacuum was underfoot and would not have been safe for children to swim."
