Casa Mariposa in El Capistrano Village, is an attractive two storey apartment with a south facing balcony, and sea view. It has its own sunny, walled south facing private garden. The interior has two good sized bedrooms; one with a king size bed and and an en suite shower room The other bedroom has a full size family bathroom with shower, twin-beds (which can be set up as a double bed) and a sofa bed which converts to double bed. This bedroom also has french windows leading to the south facing garden. There is a comfortable lounge/dining room. There is a well equipped kitchen. The property also has a washing machine, fridge, microwave, barbecue, garden furniture and sunbeds. A cot and high chair are available. The apartment also has air conditioning and heating. WiFi is included, with flat screen TV and cable stations - including the main UK stations and film channels. The apartment can accommodate 5 adults or four adults and 2 children.
The apartment is situated in El Capistrano village in Nerja. El Capistrano is a purpose-built landscaped development with access to the many beaches surrounding the seaside town of Nerja. There are many nearby tourist attractions which can be accessed by public transport or car. The development is an ideal family holiday location. El Capistrano has two swimming pools complexes. Both complexes have 2 pools and a baby pool. They both have a snack bar. The pool in the main complex has, a restaurant, bar and a small supermarket. There are 2 large supermarkets, restaurants and bars within walking distance of the property. The local bus stops regularly near to the apartment, and can be used to access the town and Torecilla beach directly. The so called 'Blue Bus' costs 1 euro. There is free on road parking and taxi prices are reasonable.
Although a car isn't necessary, the location is hilly in parts. For for those travellers with mobility problems or very young children a car may be preferred.
Nerja is a beautiful Spanish town approximately 55 kilometres east from Malaga and 65 km from Malaga airport on the N-340 coastal highway. It is the eastern tip of Malaga's Costa del Sol. Nerja has retained much of its uniquely Spanish character. The town, and Burriana Beach, reputed to be one of the finest beaches east of Malaga, are approx. 2 kms away from the apartment. Nerja is famous for its spectacular Balcón de Europa, a promenade stretching out into the Mediterranean, offering views of the town's numerous coves and beaches, plus the magnificent Sierra Almijara. The area caters to families, couples and groups of friends.
Nerja, and its surrounding areas, caters to all tastes and interests. There are a wide range of restaurants and tapas bars that will satisfy almost every palette and budget. The town is usually thought of as a family destination, however for those looking for a vibrant nightlife, there are a number of bars and discos in and around Plaza Tutti Frutti. For those who are looking for something slightly more cultured, check what’s on at Casa Cultura on Calle Granada- there are lists of events displayed by the window. If there is something you fancy, it’s definitely worth a visit, and it’s always reasonably priced. Remember, nearly everything will be in Spanish. During the summer a number of events, including ballet and opera, are held in the Cuevas de Nerja. The International Cave Festival, which is held there every year, attracts many internationally renowned artists. The caves themselves are also worth a visit. Granada and Cordoba (both world heritage sites) are approximately within two hours drive of Nerja.
There is a lot to see and do in and around Nerja and if you don't fancy walking, you can take a horse-drown carriage and tour the town or hop on the 'train' (very popular with children) and travel to Nueva Nerja.
The Nerja Tourist Information Office is located in the council office buildings, just opposite the church on the Balcon de Europa. The tourist information office has information on bus timetables, day trips etc and can help with any other queries visitors to Nerja might have. Additionally there are many leaflets, free newspapers and magazines available in the office. The opening hours are 10 am to 2 pm.
You can get from Malaga Airport to Nerja by taxi or minibus transfer, renting a car or by bus.
There is a a train from Malaga Airport to Maria Zambrano Station every 30 minutes from 7:30 am to midnight, the bus station is a 2 minute walk from the train station. At the Bus Station, purchase a ticket from the Alsa Bus Company office. The Nerja bus usually goes from bay 38. The total journey takes approximately 2 hours.
