Brent & Jean's Grain Bin Inn Barn
This one bedroom Grain Bin converted to a tiny home in the heart of the Midwest, has all of the comforts of home! You have the entire bin to yourself, complete with a kitchenette, full bathroom. You will have to be able to climb stairs to get to the main bed, but there is a futon on the main level. The exterior faces the corral where our cattle and horse may sometimes be, and free range chickens that may roam toward you, especially if they think you have food. We may eventually add more animals! The space Our bin is located in a rural setting, the main floor boasts a full bath, kitchenette, and living area with a futon for relaxing or sleeping, the loft or second level is the bedroom with a queen bed and a full-size sleeper sofa. We would have loved to fit the sleeper sofa on the main level but it just wasn’t possible. This cute little space was so perfect and relaxing . Perfect for one or a couple . Steep stairs so no elders or handicap.. gotta stay here just for the cute cats!! And your neighbors are four legged and furry.. ideal
It’s a bit off the ways of 70, but it was worth the trip. I was driving from KC back home to CO and wanted to half my drive and found this cute listing. I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfortable and they used the space so wisely when they remodeled the grain bin. It was also really quiet and chill. I had my dogs with me and they enjoyed the space, too.
The remodeling of the grain bin into an apartment was amazing. Loved the natural wood and rustic tin appointments. The natural light at the peak of the roof and ceiling appointments were especially nice in the bedroom. We enjoyed the horses and cattle. We heard the rooster crow in the morning. The communication with Brent was easy and informative. Very comfortable.
... but the domed roof is a real highlight with its skylight that provides a peek at the moon & gentle light as dawn breaks. The heated floor throughout the main level was also nice. Very comfortable bed, a surprisingly roomy shower stall, and fantastic hosts who responded quickly to inquiries while I was there. Didn't miss having windows at all. Cleanliness was NOT an issue... and I'd liked to have taken the fabulous sheets with me (but didn't) Wish I'd been there in warmer weather to enjoy the front porch. Very quiet, rural location but not secluded. Certainly felt safe. Only about 5 min to Ness City with several pleasant restaurants. No complaints at all. Reserve it if you can. Doubt you'll find a better bin.K Hot Springs, AR
The Grain Bin Inn was the perfect spot for my one-night stopover on my road trip. Had everything I needed. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in that part of Kansas again. Thanks!
We enjoyed our stay at the grain bin inn barn. Nice peaceful mornings and evenings on the porch watching kittens play and listening to all the sounds of nature. Thank you for a nice getaway.
We loved it! It was a great stop for us as we were visiting Dodge City and Monument Rocks as part of our visit to Kansas on our way home from NM and working on getting all 50 states. We also visited Cuppa Joe in Ness City and it was fabulous too.
Love staying at the Grain Bin Inn! So clean and perfect spot for quiet...except the cows. Was met at the door (and in the morning) by a lovely host kitty and her kittens. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot, don't need much more than that. Thanks!
The kitchen had plenty of cookware. The renovation of the silo was well done and fun! It was a great stop on our way across Kansas! We are glad we found this place!
Great place to stay, off the beaten path in rural remote Kansas! Very clean & well-stocked bathroom, kitchen. We had a couple of overnight thunderstorms, and it was very cool to watch the lightening via the skylight while in bed. We’ll definitely return!
Despite having a flat tire on our way to our stay, we really enjoyed our stay. More comfortable and nicer than a hotel room, plus super cute! Bonus were the sweet cats and kittens that greeted us and really wanted to come inside. The host was great with communication and even offered and tried to help us with our tire, but we were able to get it changed before they got there. Highly recommend, if you’re traveling through anywhere nearby - it’s worth a detour.
This was a great stay! It is a unique place that isn't far from town. Communication with Brent and Jean was smooth and swift. We have a 1 year old who really enjoys the sound of his voice so it was nice to not have to worry about being too loud. My only wish is there was a place to put hot tools in the bathroom while getting ready and to allow cool off. We also enjoyed the very friendly cats and kittens!
Can't say enough about our stay with Brent and Jean. They have done a beautiful job converting the grain bin into a lodging. I was on Bike Across Kansas ride with buddies. We hung out in the covered space at the entry. Brent and Jean were incredibly gracious and helpful.
This was such a great place to stay as I passed thru Kansas. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was so serene. The "host" cats and their kittens were so cute and friendly and the horses added to the tranquility. It was a treat to see the stars at night too. Hosts were great to communicate with too! Highly recommend!
