Beautiful Lake House w/ Private Pier & Dock, Kayaks, Fishing + Crabbing Gear

Located just 30 minutes from NOLA, Island Girl II is an incredibly special lakeside retreat. Our cheerful 3-BD/2-BA lake house is smartly styled with a modern coastal theme, has bright and airy social areas, comfortable bedrooms, and fantastic outdoor living spaces. Kayaks, fishing & crabbing gear are provided for use on our private pier and dock that sits directly on Lake Catherine. Smart TVs, Wi-Fi, 2 BBQ grills, pro fishing guides and more – we have everything you need for an amazing time!

Inside the home we have a large, modern kitchen with upgraded stainless-steel appliances, a prep island, and dining table for 6 – a perfect space for fish fries and crab boils! Open sightlines from the kitchen to the family living area are an entertainer’s dream, and the outdoor covered patio right off this space was made for lazy days enjoying nothing but free time on the lake. Plan on grilling the catch of the day out here on the propane grill then dining alfresco at our outdoor table with gorgeous lake views as your backdrop.

After spending a long day on the lake, there are 3 beautifully styled bedrooms waiting for you that comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Sleeping accommodations are as follows:

Bedroom 1 – King bed
Bedroom 2 – Queen bed
Bedroom 3 – Two twin beds

Outdoor living down by the lake at Island Girl II is amazing, too! Our private pier and dock are the ideal place to fish, crab and soak up some rays when not out in our kayaks on Lake Catherine. Below the home is an additional paved outdoor living space with a charcoal BBQ grill, fish cleaning station, shady picnic spot, and hose for rinsing off.

Bringing your own boat? Easy – launch it at Island Marina just down the road then drive along the shoreline to our pier where you can tie off. And they don’t call this area fisherman’s paradise for nothing! Wrigley’s marina is a very convenient 3 minutes away and they sell live shrimp. We also have great recommendations for local, professional fishing guides to maximize your sporting time on the water. Be sure to inquire if you are interested.

Staying at Island Girl II provides the best of both worlds with a location just 30 minutes from New Orleans and the MS Gulf Coast. Spend the days/nights enjoying the parties, parades and casinos then head back to Island Girl for a relaxing and quiet stay away from the excitement.

Sugar Bowl stay

Awesome
My family and I enjoyed ourselves here. From sitting outside on the deck or the patio you will have a nice view with a breeze blowing to keep you cool. If you have an issue The host Laurie will get back to you promptly to answer any of your concerns! Oh, and the house will rock you to sleep. If we come back to New Orleans we will be renting from Island Girl I or II again.

Our stay at this property was amazing! The view was beautiful we have three teenage boys that fished until the moment left. The property was clean and stocked with everything you needed I felt like I was at home. I would definitely stay here again. The owner is so nice loving, caring and wants to make sure that you are pleased and that I was!!! She is very detailed meaning she has this book in the house that tells you everything about the house to where to get the finest food. Listen trust me don’t pass up the opportunity to stay at this property you can’t go wrong!!! Trust me💕🎉

Great Experience!
My wife and I wanted a 3 day getaway to just relax, and I wanted to do a little fishing and crabbing. We also took our little puppy dog, Sophie, with us. It was a fabulous 3 days. We relaxed out on the balcony overlooking the water, sipped our drinks, and although it was hot this time of year, there was a fan on the porch which made a big difference. I caught a few fish from the very nice covered dock, but probably would have caught more had I taken the kayak out, which was provided. They also provided fishing tackle. We caught blue crabs while we were there , boiled them, and ate them. Delicious! Laurie and Ricky were gracious hosts. They came over right away when we were having problems with the internet and fixed it. They even brought us tools to eat the crabs with. The house was very nice, beautifully decorated, and clean. Overall, we had a fantastic time! Sophie enjoyed herself too 😊.

1st time to Louisiana
Very clean house and great amenities. About 45 minutes from New Orleans but definitely the safest place to stay. Only issue was that there is actually only 1 shower with 5 people was time consuming. No master bedroom shower. Beds are comfortable and that's hard to find. Communication among management was excellent and they did everything to help us out. A house on stilts does sway in the wind but my kids said it 'Rocked them to sleep' lol. It would have been easier if we could have used the lift for luggage and our cooler but not a deal breaker. It was the best stocked kitchen we have stayed in...best quality and size cooktop pans. Very helpful when cooking for a bigger family. Activities attended..ghost tours, indoor go karts, swamp tour, 3 plantation guided tours- Whitney- more about slavery- favorite, Nottoway- Brock was an awesome guide & Houmas- 600 yr old Oak Trees. A must...Seafood Boil Restaurant.
