Visitors today explore its remains and it holds occasional events such as concerts and art installations.
The house is also about a 10 minute walk to the Wildlife sanctuary on Huguenot Street, where herons, swans, muskrats, hawks and bluebirds abound. World-class birding can also be found in nearby Wallkill, where the Shawanagunk Grasslands NWR hosts hundreds of species, including migrating owls. Majestic hawks soar over this lovely area and deer, fox, rabbits, and even bears are prevalent in the woods.
