Enjoy a soak in the hot tub on a private balcony with a view of nature or simply chill with Netflix on our cozy couch or memory foam mattress. This is the perfect quaint little getaway cabin! You will find a fire pit and charcoal grill for your personal use! Avenwood Cabins offers private cabin getaways in the beautiful Wayne National Forest. Our woodland escape ensures relaxation while providing modern amenities. Each cabin boasts state-of-the-art hot tubs with a view of the forest, queen-sized beds for guest comfort, air conditioning for those warmer months, WIFI and Roku-equipped televisions to keep you connected, and of course a pet-friendly environment for your fur babies!

Exactly what we needed!
Overall it was a great experience with no inconveniences whatsoever. Fast communication between property manager and myself. Definitely will be booking sometime again soon!! If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from life then this is definitely for you!!

I loved that I could take my dogs with me for hiking.
I loved the hot tub. Not as much privacy as im used to when staying at cabins. They were close to each other. The hot water in the shower was hard to find. But it was very peaceful there. I wouldve loved loved if it had a full size couch though in there!

Not a bad rental once we got in, no wifi, cable remote only 1/4 of the time, hot water was lacking in the shower. Had no code to unlock the door. Had to look up the number on Google. Communication of host is lacking. When we finally got ahold her where we were staying and she gave me a code without confirming it was my reservation.

Cabin was fine. patio rocking chairs need replaced, furniture was fine. Shower hot water only worked if you had it on the cold setting, no directions in the cabin about that issue. communication with the host was terrible. Issues with internet and wifi. Never received directions for access to the cabin before arriving. Tried emailing, messaging and calling host with no responses Thankfully Vrbo agent was able to assist us.

Rough Start
The biggest complaint we had is it was after check in time before we had any contact with the property manager. I had even emailed them previously to ask about a later check out. I even had to contact Vrbo for help multiple times. We were about to cancel everything directly with Vrbo and then I received a text from property manager right after hanging up with them. Our second complaint was the internet worked very little during our stay. As far as the property goes. We had zero complaints. It was perfect. And we want to come back.

My wife and I stayed at Dogwood Run with our dog for our anniversary in June of 2023. It was our first night away from our baby and we were looking for something special. This cabin was not it. There was black mold all over the laundry hamper in the bathroom and the sink basin in there had been so poorly installed that water ran down the side of the vanity cabinet, causing swelling and, quite possibly, more mold. The floor in the cabin was buckling up in the center. The cabin wasn't level, so head of the bed was lower than the foot. Worst of all, for us, the hot tub died after a single use. For what it's worth, property management offered to send someone out in the morning to repair the tub, but, since we were only there one night, we opted against it. The only pros here were the quiet and how responsive management was to our single, greatest issue. The cons heavily outweigh these. Really, I've hemmed and hawed over leaving this review and what kind of rating to give this cabin. But, truthfully, we had a terrible time and the cost of our single night stay was far too high for these cons to be reasonable. Were it not such a mean thing to do, I'd honestly give this place 1/5 stars (which is what my wife wants me to give). If management fixes the issues with the cabin, you might have a good time! But, as it stands, I'd caution you against going, especially since there are so many wonderful cabins in the area. We won't be back.

The cabin was warm and cozy. It was secluded, but it also had many opportunities around it for food, coffee, hiking, etc. The contact info for the host was readily accessible. Great all around!

We loved this cabin. There are a lot of great things, but there are a couple of things that you should know to make the right choice for you. This is a quaint, but beautiful cabin. It's clean & modern, but simple. Simple, but provides everything that you need for a peaceful, nature getaway. While out in the middle of nowhere, it is not secluded. There are other cabins right nextdoor. There are blinds on the deck so that you have some privacy though. We plan on bringing back our children and grandchildren, and having each family have their own cabin. We can sit around the campfire and enjoy each other's company. The only issues we had are: There is little water pressure in the shower or the sinks. With the type of faucets that they have it is really hard to get the hot water on. There is hot water but it's where you would think the cold is on the dial, and it's hard to get to a good temperature. It appears like there is no hot water, but there is, you have to work to find it. We also did not get check in information & no response to my email requests, so I had to call to get our door code before leaving. The TV remotes work, but it's hard to find the angle & spot to point to work. Watch the metal bed frames. We repeatedly kicked them/hit our knees on it when covered by bedding.I am just sharing our experience. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would love to return. If these things sound like what you're looking for, stay here!
