Peaceful and serene
I absolutely adored the Buckeye hut. The theme was pure Buckeye, Ohio State buckeyes… It was very clean and cozy. I enjoyed the porch in the evening and the morning listening to nothing but nature, which is exactly what I went for. The staff were very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend!!

Advertised as having wifi. The wifi did not work. Could not connect to the internet or send\reveive texts or phone calls. Called the property manager and asked them to look at the wifi and got a message back asking "What Wifi". No other response. Also displeased with the lack of cooking utensils. Wanted to make brownies but there was not any bowls bigger than a cereal bowl. Cooking pans were old and stained in old grease. The grill was about a 12" kettle grill. Couldn't cook a whole meal on that. My biggest issue was the wifi. We had a pregnant daughter at home and that is why I choose this cabin so that we would to be able to receive calls\texts and then the lack or response to the issue.

Besides the drive through a very rough and sketchy back road (community) and numerous messages sent to host with no reply for a week the cabin was enjoyable but in a rundown location.

Lovely getaway
Beautiful property in the woods. The sign says “simply serene” and staying at buckeye hut truly was. Lovely place to get out of town and connect with nature. Do recommend 4 wheel drive if you are expecting snow though, drive in is a gravel road that is a little icy in winter

This quaint lil cabin was everything we were hoping for in a serene forest setting. Neighbors close by but not too close, hot tub was hot, beds were comfortable, overall we really enjoyed our stay .

It was okay for a short stay
The first thing we noticed was trash and beer bottles in the back. The floors made our feet dirty and other parts in the cabin were a little dirty as well. The hot tub needed to be maintained better. The cabin was beautiful though. It was peaceful and I did not want to come home. We stayed at the buckeye hut. I think for the money they ask for they should at least clean better and have firewood included with the cabin.

Cabin and setting is wonderful.
My girlfriend and I had a very good experience here the setting is nice and private .. the drive in kinda throws you off a little with the neighborhood you drive through but when we got to the cabins It was a lot nicer

Not too bad for a weekend get away.
We enjoyed the cabin. The only problem was there was moldiness on the hottub cover and it didn't seem like the ph was correct. Not a major issue. There were wasps near the front door and side of the cabin but they really didn't bother us too much. But it was very clean and the shower had amazing pressure. Bed was very comfortable.

Nice cabin, the location doesn’t show of GPS, but gets you close enough to keep driving another 3/4 mile to find the destination. Overall good weekend for my wife and I plus our dog.

All I have to say is this cabin could of been cleaned better and stocked better. It was just pretty dusty and they didn’t provide near enough towels or enough kitchen utensils.

Clean and quaint
The property itself was very nice. The only downfall is its location. It's not really too far from anything, it's just the drive getting to it. The dirt roads have potholes and the roads in the cabin surroundings are very narrow and steep. I would rent from here again.

The cabin was great. However we didn't have a key, no one told us where it was, there was not directions to the cabin and no signs to tell us which cabin was ours. A note on the table said they hot tub was down. Would have been nice to know all this before we arrived. We had to use the app to contact the property man ever. Pretty dumb to rely on an app somewhere that has no cell service.

Unpleasant Weekend, There are way better options out there if you want to truly enjoy yourselves!
All of the cabins this owner has are on a bumpy dirt road just an FYI if you're traveling by car. I wouldn't recommend going in a car at all. The area was pretty once you get past the ran down trailers and abandoned filled with debris cars and sketchy people on the drive in, I would not be caught out there at night. Once you pull up to the cabin you notice the keys were not in a lock box either. Just a little hook on the door. Very secure? NOT!! Friday when we got there, we were without power for 5 hours and since that was out so was the water pressure in the cabin for that time as well. The grill was broken and dirty it had trash and foil from pervious visitors. There was crumbs on the kitchen table and chairs, crumbs in the bed. Someone killed bugs in the kitchen sink and didn't bother to clean it out. The washcloths and towels smelled musty and unclean. The hot tub had a heavy residue of chemicals in it and we told the owner. She didn't care and thought I should be "okay" getting in it!? Umm hell no, I'm not getting a yeast infection or chemicals on my skin!! The chemicals in the hot tub were present ALL 3 days of our stay as well. So we didn't get to use it at all. The remote controls and light switches were sticky. I don't think they care about Coronavirus here at all. ZERO extra precautions were taking to clean this place. The shower water wouldn't stay hot or warm, it was cold every other minute. It also felt like you were being sprayed by a firefighters water hose and it was not adjustable. Only one lock on the back door actually locked. The hot tub is by the bedroom window and the motor goes on and off about every 15 minutes it's loud all night long, and the bed is uncomfortable as well. So you will not get any rest!! The owner and maintenance will ignore your calls, but maybe answer your text. Which is annoying AF since you have to drive into the nearest town to even contact them! My husband and I checked out early and I even asked for a partial refund, since it was dirty, without water and electricity and especially for not being able to use the hot tub at all. (That is the main reason to go to a place with a hot tub!!!!!) It's been 2 days and still NO reply or answer from them. I'll give them a few more days and then I'm contacting the BBB!! I WISH I could add photos & videos to this review to warn folks This! This was such a disappointment and a waste of money. Beware, you should avoid this cabin and this owner!!
