Winter on Plum Island is spectacular. Plum Island is a great place for bird watching and winter walks on a pristine beach. We are now booking for shorter "get-a-way" stays for the month of February, 2025. Grab a breakfast or lunch at Mad Martha's and then take a walk to see the historic Pink House. It may not be here for much longer! Lots to do in downtown Newburyport which is minutes away.
This home is a spacious, comfortable two-story cottage. A pleasant retreat with easy access to swimming, kayaking, bird-watching, and sunset-viewing, as well as the restaurants, galleries, and other attractions of Newburyport, and Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Sandy Point State Reservation. A moment's walk to Plum Island Beach on one side of the house and the tidal Basin on the other, 2-mile cycle, walk, or drive to the Refuge entrance, and 4 miles to Newburyport center.
The first floor has a cozy, cottage feeling, including: living room with fireplace, dining-room, well-equipped eat-in kitchen with gas stove and dishwasher, a study/guest room, and full bath. Clothes washer and dryer in basement. Enclosed sun-porch and a small deck at the front of the house.Upstairs is bright and airy. Two large bedrooms, each with French doors open to a deck that runs the width of the 2nd floor, with ocean and Basin views. Drapes provide privacy and shade. Half-bath with view of the Basin .
The house is set back from the street, with small front and back yards and a cobblestone patio in back, offering tree-shaded play areas for children, a place for grilling and outdoor eating, and a semi-enclosed outdoor shower. Parking for 4 cars. Well-insulated. New windows. Gas heat. Central AC (not often needed, because there's always a breeze). Wireless internet.
