One-Of-A-Kind Yurt Surrounded by Waterfalls

Climbing Vine Cottage is a custom-designed yurt surrounded by gardens, orchards bird and butterflies near our home. The yurt features a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen (includes award winning, locally roasted coffee) with seating for 6. The bathroom is stocked with towels, local soap, shampoo, etc. Sleeping accommodations include a lovely master bedroom (queen size bed) with Smart TV, fold out futon bed in the living room (full size) and two twin beds in the loft. In the winter months the yurt stays cozy with a high efficiency ductless mini-split. You can adjust the themostat but otherwise you don't have to do anything to enjoy a cool yurt in the summer and a cozy yurt in the winter! There's also a thermostat-controlled wood pellet stove (pellets are provided) for nights when you want a flickering fire. Summer stays cool with mini-split in the main living area and a window unit in the master bedroom just use fans and throw open the french doors. The stone patio offers outdoor dining, a gas grill and fire pit. The wildflower field, only steps away, connects to a nature preserve and Van Buskirk Gorge with many waterfalls. High speed wireless internet is also included.

Beautiful Cottage Seeks Ideal Guest: Comfortable, artfully designed, hand crafted yurt nestled into vibrant garden seeks visitors for memorable stay. If you like nature, hiking and gorge walks, if you are tired of cookie cutter hotel rooms or antique stuffed B & B's, if you want something unique and delightful let's get together for one night or many weeks! Hey, I know I'm just a 'luxury apartment in the round' but who says places can't have personality! Please write my caretaker and come visit me!

Talk About Kid Friendly!: Climbing Vine Cottage began as a playground and school for young gardeners. Small hands helped grow fruits, vegetables and flowers for their families and our local soup kitchen Loaves and Fishes. Children raised butterflies, caught frogs and identified bugs with the yurt as our indoor classroom. Children will be delighted to sit at the child's table for 4 and use the beading and drawing materials or play with the games and puzzles. There's a play kitchen, tea set and apron, plus baskets with legos, blocks and a well-stocked children's book shelf. Additionally you'll find kid-friendly-adaptive-devices like a step stool, potty seat, and low bench.

For adults without kids don't worry, when we know you're coming we place these materials out of the way, on shelves, etc.

Perfect for a Romantic Getaway: Climbing Vine Cottage makes it easy to find the time for each other. Cook together in a beautiful kitchen or get take out. Cozy up by the fire or climb in bed and watch tv. Better yet, climb up to the loft to watch the stars. Explore the forest and gorge in privacy surrounded by peace and beauty.

Birthday celebration
The owner, Michelle was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. We loved being able to bring our lab as we spent our days hiking in the State Parks. We also spent much time admiring the many waterfalls, visiting Cornell University and the Botanic Gardens. The yurt was a bit pricy for the the accommodations and the kitchen lacked a few items needed for preparing meals. It was nice to have the smart tv to watch the Bills game on Sunday.

Great Stay Outside Ithaca
The (3-6 person) yurt experience is truly wonderful. The yurt itself has an herb garden and 2 koi ponds onsite. Michelle is a gracious and kind hostess who ensured we were well taken care of. The yurt itself is very clean and comfortable and even comes with fresh local coffee! Based on the season, you may need insect (tick) repellent if you plan to traipse through the wildflower fields and woods nearby. We would love to stay here again and hope to do so in the near future.

Magical Yurt Stay
We had such a wonderful family vacation at the Climbing Vine Cottage. The host provided coloring supplies, toys, & books for our children. My husband & I enjoyed relaxing in front of the pellet stove. & to our surprise, we even experienced our first snow of the season during our stay. So grateful for the hosts quick responses & recommendations for local restaurants & activities. I highly recommend this spot for your next family getaway!

Great stay
Michelle has done a great job with the yurt. Having real walls inside makes it feel more like a home; while the loft and big skylight in the middle makes it feel like an adventure. My kids loved feeding the fish and chickens. Michele is a fantastic host. Only minutes from Ithaca, it was a great place to explore from.

Great Location
The yurt was in a quiet location. Close enough to everything that a simple drive brings you to groceries, restaurants, the commons and the waterfalls. Far enough away to enjoy a peaceful bbq at the end of the day. Clean yurt, and Michelle was very responsive when we had a question. We hope to enjoy her yurt again some day soon!

A nice break from hotels during a college tour trip. Teens enjoyed the chickens and fish and frog pond. Parents hiked to waterfall. Yurt had all we needed and now we can say we stayed in a YURT!

Relaxing and Beautiful
The yurt is lovely and extremely comfortable. I stayed with my 12 yr old son who was delighted with the loft. It feels very remote but it's also very close to town. Michelle is very friendly and helpful. There is so much to see and do in the area! It's very difficult to choose just a few different things. It's one of the best stays I've ever had, and we hope to be able to go back again!

BeaYURTiful!
This adorable yurt was CLEAN and comfortable. We really loved the interior spaciousness and the cozy loft for the kids, as well as the beautiful central skylight. Our favorite part, though, was our SUPERhost Michelle. She was the perfect balance of available without being in-your-face. She was incredible with our kids teaching them how to feed chickens, gather eggs, tell the difference between koi fish and goldfish, and pick raspberries and zucchinis. She also went out of her way to show us the hiking path to the wonderful secluded waterfalls ten minutes from the yurt. Extra bonus treats were the natural soaps and cleansers in the yurt, the fridge dispenser with cold water ready-to-go, and the fully stocked kitchen where we were able to cook a feast every night. Thanks, Michelle, for a fantastic family vacation and treasured memories

Great little "yurt away from home"!
Thanks to Michelle for a wonderfully unique place to stay. Spent a long weekend in Ithaca and we were really happy to have Michelle's yurt to come home to while we visited. Beautiful property. Would love to visit again in the summer to see the gardens surrounding the property and take part in some fresh veggies. The yurt was so much more than expected...think I might want one! It was a warm December weekend, but the pellet stove still ran each evening and provided a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. Loved the bright colors and the casual decorum. Our dog Max also loved the yurt. He's usually a little anxious and nosy the first night when we're away from home, no matter where we go, but he found his spot next to us on the futon and just melted into it. Next time hopefully he'll get some play time with Michelle's family dog. This will definitely be on our list of go to places when visiting the area. Definitely plan to recommend it to some friends of ours who I know would absolutely love it.

So beautiful and peaceful
What a wonderful weekend! Thank you to Michelle and her family for a fantastic experience and for sharing their amazing yurt with us. Our three boys (10, 7, 4) enjoyed sleeping in the awesome loft and hanging out in the garden watching the frogs and feeding the fish. Michelle spent time showing the boys around the garden and having them sample the many fruits, veggies and herbs growing there. She taught them to make chamomile tea from real flowers -- which they insisted we do at every meal. Imagine the delight when I needed an egg to make cookies and we could take the boys out to the chicken coop to get one! We also enjoyed hiking around the property and making s'mores by the fire pit. The boys even found some rocks with fossils in them down by the stream. There was so much to do on the property and we were less than 15 minutes from Ithaca and all of its amazing sights. The yurt was comfortable, homey, cool and just the perfect getaway for the five of us! Thank you!

Sweet Place!
Spacious, clean and unique! Manager was helpful. Not a very secluded place, as residence sat 200' away from Yurt, BUT, many efforts were provided to enhance privacy i.e., back entrance, plants. Would stay again!
