Newly updated. Nice staff. Has a bar with food service and breakfast options. The hot water needed attention before we had hot water, and the charged a $25 plus tax resort fee that was a surprise to us at checkout. At least we did get extra services for fee.

The customer service was awesome, the bed was cozy, the room amenities were great, the hotel has a big area for the dogs to roam around, and there is an inhouse restaurant which was convenient.

I've picked this place solely because it was pet-friendly. I stayed 2 nights, being in town to visit the Gilded age mansions decorated for Christmas. I was given a first-floor room with carpeting (old and stained) which puzzled me because I saw on the same floor other rooms with just flooring, easy to clean. One would think that it's logical to give a person with a dog a room with no carpeting, as accidents may happen. Luckily they didn't ! The heater in my room was faulty, the room was icy-cold ; the engineer had to come and play with it a bit; he removed the panels ...it looked very messy. There was no breakfast offered , just a few unappealing choices of prepacked foods. Limited options for dinner as well. The gentleman at the bar was very friendly though. One night the people in the room next door played loud music up until 1 AM. As they didn't respond to my knocking in the wall signals to turn it down, I had no choice but to call security . 15-20 min later I've heard security on the corridor knocking at their door . The party stopped and I could hear 3 people leaving ( 1 male, 2 females) , talking very loudly , probably moving the party somewhere else. The lobby is nicely decorated and the hotel has a pool , so probably in the summer it could be a better experience. For me though, I doubt that a repeat will be in the cards.

The room was very clean and spacious. Staff was extremely friendly and went the extra mile to ensure I had what I needed. Property was only a few minutes away by car from downtown. Would definitely recommend.

I will never come back. It is a shame because the hotel has been renovated and it is beautiful. There is no noise insulation between the rooms and floors. Other guests were slamming doors all night. This is not their fault as the doors are heavy and have no hydraulics. The guests above me sounded like elephants at 5 in the morning. It went on for 45 minutes. When I called the front desk to complain, the phone just rang and rang. Then I tried to turn on the A/c wall unit fan to drown out some of the noise and the unit would not turn on. It doesn't matter how clean and cute a hotel is if you don't get any sleep. When I explained my evening to the check out woman, she apologized but offered no compensation. I will not be returning to this hotel.

There were numerous stains on the carpets both in the hallways and room. Out toilet didn't flush properly, body wash in shower was empty, very noisy and walls were in need of repair. Nice to get tokens for a glass of wine but overall, very disappointing
