"This is a beautiful country house which must have been one of the largest homes in the area to have been built at that time. Would love to know more about the history of the home. Thank you for leaving the Christmas tree up for us. Our home is too small to have one so this was a treat for the family. We loved the well-appointed kitchen which had everything that we needed. The refrigerator and freezer were very roomy. The mud room behind the kitchen was very conveniently located. It was great to be able to juggle kitchen and laundry duties in areas so close to one another. What a great design! We were also pleased to find a dog rope toy as we had forgotten to pack one ourselves, which helped our younger down to settle down on the first day.The bedrooms were beautifully appointed. Especially appreciated the bedroom upstairs which had two beds, which is perfect for my parents who like to be in the same room, but not in the same bed. The bedroom downstairs were connect to one another were perfect for our two boys who normally share a room. This gave them privacy while being reassuringly close to one another. As with most older homes, the hot water in the bathroom upstairs could have been hotter. An additional heating element in that bathroom would have also been appreciated for cold winter days. Overall, this was a very comfortable stay. "

"We stayed over the holidays with family to celebrate Christman. The house is clean, cozy, very well layed out and super clean. The view on the lake and the snow everywhere made it magical. The owner and the person in charge of the rental were very nice and also super quick to respond to all our inquieries. I would recommend this place to anyone!"

"Andrew and Marilou’s treehouse offered the perfect respite for relaxation and connection. Not only were the details of the house a masterpiece of creativity (a sink emerging from a treestump, steps to the loft built into the tree, a hidden bird’s nest), but their hospitality was so thoughtful. We arrived to a fridge stocked with morning waffle ingredients, coffee, maple candies on the coffee table, and a guest book filled with others’ happy memories. There is an adorable hot tub, a comfortable bed, and all of the comforts needed for a quiet getaway. Quiet as it was, the treehouse is also convenient for enjoying the Northeast Kingdom. Jay Peak, downtown Newport, and the Canadian border are all within an easy drive. Thank you, Andrew and Marilou. We will most definitely stay again!"
