Lovely English country house with a beautiful garden located right on Dartmoor so it’s a great starting point for exploring the area (I explored by foot only). The highlight of the hotel is its elegant and luxurious spa. Fabulous breakfast served. Lovely dinner options at The Blue Tiger. Spacious room and very comfortable bed. I would happily return!

Good location for countryside views, close to Hay Tor for excellent walking. The hotel has great facilities, nice lounges to relax after a walk and Spa for recovery or relaxation.

It was great to be able to use the spa facilities after a day's hike on Dartmoor. The food was excellent and bedrooms were a decent size.

Anniversary weekend , first impressions, very nice , bar terrace was lovely . Check in all good , prompt and friendly , room was very nice a bit dated maybe but the bathroom and bed comfort was really good The tv you can stream channels from your phone great feature and also the sensor light in the bathroom saves putting the main light on waking everyone up! Had a meal on the first night was very nice no complaints . Breakfast was lovely no complaints. All in all a very nice two nights , also used the spa that was lovely , definitely worth a visit when you stay all in all a very nice stay , a bit pricey £410 for two nights , maybe that’s what you pay now .

We really enjoyed two moghts stay at this hotel, as it offers easy acess to Dartmoor and good spa facilities. We also booked 40 minutes massage sessions for both of us and it was absolutely amazing. Big thanks to the fantastic therapist, Sarah.

Spa breal in Dartmoor

Very enjoyable 3 day break at this lovely spa hotel in the shadow of Dartmoor. Spa facilities were excellent and not too busy whem we went. Croquet lawn out front and tennis courts in the village. 10 mins to Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracy if you want to eat out.

The spa area was excellent as was the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately the rooms were very dated, signs of mould and cracks around windows and the furniture and bed needed replacing. The room which was a superior room needed refurbishing. and did not reflect the price paid. The situation was lovely as were the views.

The establishment is very well run by a team of friendly, kind, helpful and caring staff. The spa is a place you can easily spend a couple of hours relaxing and using the first class facilities. We had a pre-dinner drink in the lounge mulling over the menu before being shown into the dining room for a very lovely meal. We would certainly recommend it and hope to return in the future.

My friend and I met at The Ilsington Hotel for a catch up and spa plus dinner and overnight stay! I had no expectations about the hotel in advance but I must say we absolutely fell in love with this delightful family run , wonderful friendly atmosphere. The three course dinner was the most delicious fine dining I had enjoyed for years, it was so tasty. The spa and massage were fantastic. You could relax in the gardens with a coffee or lunch and it felt like an escape from the real world. We also walked to Haytor nearby and enjoyed the fabulous beautiful Dartmoor views. There are many places to visit nearby. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely amazing hotel! Superb staff, top rate service and the food was divine. Plus an onsite Spa to relax in after many walks in the surrounding area. From check in to check out we were made to feel special and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely spacious room, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Nice view too across the gardens. The main restaurant evening meals were exquisite, service absolutely perfect with sunset views towards Haytor Rocks. The Blue Tiger Inn evening meals were great too, sitting on the terrace! And the included breakfast on our B&B booking was equally fabulous, setting us up for those walks up to Haytor, Burrator Reservoir and Becky Falls. Ample parking. Special mention to Tom, impeccable service and David on the front desk for being so approachable and helpful. Also Mike and Holly for their service too. Nice to chat to James also, not realising who he was. All so good we extended our stay by 1 night as there was availability, that speaks volumes in itself! Thank you all at Ilsington Hotel & Spa for helping us make memories for our wedding anniversary stay. M&J Ps in room homemade flapjacks are amazing!
