We really enjoyed our stay here on a family vacation. It was quiet, well maintained, and we especially loved the hot tub! Elizabeth was quick with communication and provided plenty of information on the area as well. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
I used this for a writing retreat and the property was peaceful and lovely, nestled in a natural setting. Great getaway and close to great areas to explore including trails and beaches.
This property is in a stunning location with a beautiful view. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts were super friendly and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area. Lots of great hiking near by and close enough to restaurants and other activities.
The property was clean and comfortable. A beautiful natural environment with towering redwoods, amazing pines and fresh air. Nice
Amenities. Private and quiet it was a wonderful retreat.
Beautiful, peaceful location and it was a very short drive to Pt Reyes. My only suggestion for improvement would be to supply coffee cups. We would definitely stay there again.
Not only is the house and room great and put together very be well, the location is the best if you want a quiet and peaceful…fantastic and we will be back as I come to the area for work a few times a year. The jacuzzi also really helps after a day of whatever!
The room is beautiful and pleasant. The drive up is steep and rough in places but manageable. It was cloudy and we got in late so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub under the stars.
The property was up a secluded windy road. Really felt isolated and beautiful. Lovely frog and nature sounds at night. Raining while we stayed so didn’t try out the hot tub, but bet it would have been nice!
Small, but cute place. Not ideal for teen kids (mine were not enthused), but would have been nice for a couple. Hot tub was nice n hot and clean! No frills or extras - don't forget to bring snacks. There is biting near by!
Enchanting Escape: A Five-Star Retreat with Breathtaking Views and Gracious Host
An absolute gem! I wish I could give this home more than five stars. The location is breathtaking, the room is beautifully appointed with unbeatable views. The symphony of frogs at night was a lullaby. The hot tub and sauna are divine, set amidst beautiful grounds. Beth, the host, is fantastic! A perfect retreat.
Wonderful property. The directions from the host were really helpful. The bed was so comfortable, we're going to buy a new mattress! Lovely and quiet. Lots of birds.
We inconvenienced the owner by not knowing our check out date, which she was gracious about. Then my husband lost his wallet, and Beth looked for us. Great host!
Second time at this property this time on my own, and a great spot to stay to go Point Reyes, and areas east-San Rafael, Novato. Extremely quiet, with woods and sometimes wildlife, like deer. No TV, radio, cell phone coverage is spotty. Depending on your carrier... This is the place to unplug.
Beautiful surroundings, nature everywhere! We saw a fox along the roadway, deer and there was quiet all around. Because of clouds, didn't see night skies, but likely can at different times of year. This was great place to be to attend a concert at Rancho Nicasio. Cozy room with fridge, bedding, good workspace desk, microwave, dishes...all as described.

Great property excellent views horrible drive
Everything (almost) was great and owners very responsive and accommodating. BIG issue though… the Drive between Lucas Valley Rd and property was treacherous and basically horrible; enough to make me dread basic comings and goings. Ambient noise from owner/dogs above was unpleasant and unexpected the first night so I requested a fan for white noise which pretty much remedied that issue. Other than those things, the unit is really nice and super cute. View spectacular and hot tub great. Others may not mind the drive but it is a total deal breaker for me.

Not worth it
Beautiful location—not that you can appreciate it from the basement. It’s advertised as a suite, but it’s just a room with a microwave and an electric kettle. No sink unless you count the bathroom, random assortment of plates, cutlery, etc.). Apparently guests are expected to bring in prepared meals and nuke them, although there are no vessels for reheating. I’m going on at such length because the owner did not accurately convey the reality of the accommodations she was providing. She did give detailed driving directions—helpful since there is little service in the area, so if you do not put the destination into your gps before you set off into the hinterlands, you will not be able to navigate. More importantly, though, the last couple of miles up to the house are treacherous! Narrow, steep, curving roads, portions of which have deteriorated to the point where you could damage your car, especially at night. So you might not want to be driving in and out after dark. It would have been nice if the owner had warned us as it gets dark by 5 in December and you can’t check in before 4 unless you pay an additional 25 fee.Speaking of fees, we chose this place because it is pet friendly. We told her we have a dog when we made our reservation and were charged a 65 “host fee”, but after we arrived, the owner invoiced us for an additional 45.because she said she hadn’t known about our dog. I had to show her the itemized receipt. Left a bad taste in the mouth.
Absolutely beautiful location - so remote, but only 30 minutes to San Rafael or Pt. Reyes. The road is indeed steep, but directions were easy to follow and it is well marked and maintained. Fabulous spot for people who enjoy the outdoors and walking/hiking.
I was in the area for the Point Reyes Bird Festival. The unit is in an idyllic spot surrounded by hills and forest. It is a couple miles off the main road on a steep winding private road but worth the trip. I would recommend arriving during daylight.
