Las Negras is a charming fishing village that’s located in the Natural Maritime Park of Cabo de Geta, one of the last parts of the Mediterranean coast that remains untouched.

The village faces a remarkable hill, the Cerro Negro, which has inspired many writers and artists due to its spectacular geology.
Behind this hill, only reachable by boat or on foot, lies the Cala San Pedro cove, famous for its beauty. The discovery of this site is the opportunity for a nice hike.

The pretty clear water coves and the cliffs at Las Negras attract diving and sea aficionados.
This is the ideal village where you can rest, relax and enjoy very pleasurable festive nights in the village’s many bars, restaurants and discotheque.

Very near to Africa and located in the Almeria province, Andalusia will reveal all its charms to you.
Its sub-desert Mediterranean climate has shaped the arid landscape where haciendas, cacti and palm trees are scattered here and there. The contrast is striking with the softness of the blue sea, the fine sandy beaches and the spectacularly eroded coves.

Classed as a biosphere reserve by the Unesco, the Cabo de Gata natural reserve presents a unique and fragile volcanic coastline for exceptional hikes from villages to small ports.
San José, La Isleta del Moro, Las Negras, Rodalquilar, Aguamarga are some of the many small fishing villages where many artists, poets and nature lovers have come to settle in.

A few kilometres away from the Casa del Olivo, you will discover El Cortijo de El Fraile that inspired Federico García Lorca’s Blood Wedding and less than two hours car drive away, you may equally visit several wonders of Andalusia in the Granada province: the Calahorra château, Guadix and its troglodyte houses, Las Alpujarras with its beautiful white villages, the heights of the Sierra Nevada and also the town of Granada with its Albaicin Arab quarters and the extraordinary palace and gardens of the Alhambra.

A beautiful, spacious Spanish home overlooking the sea and village.
We all loved our stay - 5 adults - it was spacious with different terraces and two garden areas - the hammock was a popular spot… as of course was the gorgeous pool. From the stunning sunrises to sunset the view and light - kept changing .. it was easy to while away time just looking. It’s a beautiful home - not a cold clinical villa. Thank you to Angel for letting us experience it. We also enjoyed discovering the area - walking and by car - beaches are very unspoilt - we hope to return to discover more.

Perfect!
We had the best time staying at Angel’s property. He was fantastic before we arrived, always answering our questions very quickly and maintaining smooth communication throughout. The property itself is just lovely - clean, and absolutely anything you might need is provided. The views from the property are breathtaking, both during the day and at night. Las Negras itself is a very small town, but there are still a fee bars and restaurants to choose from. We went for a few day trips during our stay, including the beach at Cala Los Mendrugos, the wild-west experience at Fort Bravo, a trip to Mojacar, and our absolute favourite was the Cabo de Gata kayak tour (this was amazing!). All in all, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week, and would certainly recommend Angel’s property to anyone who is considering exploring this part of Spain.

Fabulous Villa

Superb!
A lovely villa overlooking a small Spanish town and Mediterranean Sea - like waking up in a dream every morning - especially watching the sunrise over the sea. Infinity pool was a little cool in October, but refreshing after taking any of the numerous hikes in the area (don’t miss San Pedro Castle and Cove!). So many things to enjoy on the property, including tons of outdoor patio options (all with views of the sea), a gorgeous courtyard, exquisite garden and roomy, comfortable, stylish interior. Easy to venture out on day trips and very good local places to buy groceries and eat out. Angel was super responsive and helpful. Couldn’t ask for more!

Wonderful Sunny June Week
Angel’s house is spacious, laid out over several levels on a hill side facing the sea. The pool, gardens and sculptural potted plants make for a beautiful and relaxing setting. We liked that the house felt like a well cared for home. We’d walk into Las Negras, or drive to Agua Amarga, or, one day, walked the coastal path to San Pedro beach & took a boat back - loved that. Thanks to Angel for all his helpful communication throughout our stay.

Amazing house
This house is amazing, the pool was big and really nice, lots of outdoor seating and different areas so you always got the sun. View of the town was spectacular particularly the sunrise over the sea. Bedrooms spacious with lots of storage. Kitchen was well equipped. Everything clean and working. Our son loved seeing the chameleon and tortoises in the garden. The area is really beautiful with lots of nice beaches. Angel was a great host and very helpful. In terms of the layout, it's significantly larger than a typical four bedroom villa, with several additional living areas: 1x master bedroom, with an ante room with table and chairs and en suite 1x large bedroom with two single and en suite 1x separate mini apartment with two singles and en suite, and large living room with piano, separated by small courtyard 1x smaller bedroom with two singles (but no ensuite) Kitchen and large shared living room.

A totally fabulous place to stay
I cannot recommend this beautiful villa enough ! We booked it for a family holiday with grown up children. The location is amazing and has the most wonderful views of Las Negras and the coastline. It was worth getting up early in the mornings to enjoy the light changing and experience the tranquility. Every aspect of the property has been thoughtfully and tastefully considered and is very well maintained and equipped . The flexible layout is excellent and provided several terraces and seating areas where we could be together or enjoy some peace reading separately- so it was great for us as a family. We all loved the pool and even though it was the end of September the water remained warm enough to use until late afternoon. Angel and Dominique were perfect hosts. They were not at all intrusive but were easy to contact and came straight round when we had a problem. We couldn’t work out how to turn the oven off! If you want to recharge your batteries and escape from the everyday craziness this is the place to come.

A dream in Andalucia.
This house is spectacular and the view is incredible. Beautifully decorated and, the art on the walls is thoughtfully curated . Comfortable, clean and yet not overdone to the place where relaxation is hard to find. The gardens and variety of plants are truly amazing. Completely private; the swimming pool is a dream. I will be back.

Wonderful villa with an amazing view. Beautiful decor inside and masses of room. Angel was very helpful and available if we ever needed him. Haiku takeaway in town was brilliant - open everyday all day until late. I can't recommend this villa highly enough although it is not suitable for the very old or very young.

Lovely villa in a stunning location

Excellent villa in a great location
We highly recommend this villa. It is spacious very well equipped and has magnificent views especially from the pool. The town of Las Negras is close and has a very good selection of restaurants and there is also a new Lidl store only 20 minutes drive. Angel is a super host. Book a stay it will exceed your expectations.

Beautiful villa, stunning location and great hosts
Casa el Olivo is one of the best villas we have stayed in. Every bit as beautiful as the pictures, with very tasteful decor, there is so much space to enjoy both inside and out, on the various terraces and in the wonderfully tended gardens. The infinity swimming pool is simply gorgeous, enjoying views over the village of Las Negras and its pretty bay. The owner, Angel, lives in an adjacent property and is there to help if needed but in no way intrudes on your privacy. In Las Negras itself there is a good sized supermarket with a decent range of produce and there is no shortage of nice bars and restaurants with good food. Don't miss the fresh, locally caught fish! A great find was "Haiku", a little delicatessen just on the outskirts of the village which also does takeaway food either available straight away or to order. Their paella (just 2 hours notice for preparation needed) was exceptional. If you are fit it would be perfectly possible to walk into the village but be aware that the walk back up to the villa is steep and not for the fainthearted, especially in the heat. But that is the price for a stunning view, one of the best in the area! It is also worth saying that there are quite a lot of steps around the villa which might make it unsuitable for the infirm and young children would certainly need very close supervision indeed. Further afield, the Cabo de Gata national park is gorgeous and the adjacent village of Rodalquilar (just ten minutes drive) with its wide open and unspoilt beach is a real treat. All-in-all Angel and his wife are lovely hosts and I can think of few better villas for a "get away from it all" break in beautiful scenery. Highly recommended.

Very good, even better than expected, much larger than expected
Highly recommended. Great location: a short walk from beach/restaurants/bars of sleepy Las Negras and a short drive to a wide variety of great beaches and small fishing towns. Surrounding landscape is unspoiled, dramatic and beautiful with great hiking and walking. The house itself is excellent - more like 4 inter-linked 1-bed suites sharing a big kitchen and lounge than ‘just’ a 4 bed villa. Huge studio space great for kids. Great pool and terraces (although a little shady towards the end of the day). Stunning gardens and planting throughout. The house is stylish and comfortable without feeling sterile or unwelcoming. Angel the host was very friendly and helpful (he even took the kids to meet his lovely horse Bolero), always available if we needed anything. We’d stay again, with more friends next time to fill the space!
