"During my stay, I was first welcomed with a warm greeting at the check-in desk. Upon receiving my keys (to the second floor), I entered my room and immediately noticed a small bug (roach) on the bathroom counter. After further inspection, there was hair from the previous guest in the shower along with another dead bug and the running water was brown. "Fine hotel, but we were in a room next to some pretty noisy people. The manager offered to move us, but we got to sleep and it wasn't too big a deal, but: 1. Manager spoke to the noisy crowd and the solution was an offer to move us -- I would think the solution should have been to expect quiet behavior or enlist police for disturbing the peace. 2. Why do hotels put guests so close together anyhow? It seems that should only be done when rooms are nearly all used."
