Incredibly Disappointing
We have just returned from a 3 night weekend at Addison's Montville, & we were all incredibly disappointed in the accomodation. The main house was ok but it is in desperate need of some maintenance. A good clean both inside & out & some general repairs & painting wouldn't go astray. Whilst we know that the house is of a considerable age & is surrounded by sub tropical rainforests & bush, it smelled incredibly musty & damp, & no amount of scented candles, air fresheners or damp removal buckets that were there, helped. Being a group of 9, we knew that we were going to need access to the "rustic" studio as well. To call it "rustic" is incredibly inaccurate. It was a shed that had some thin panelling on the walls & ceiling, which was covered in rust spots from the nails. It was in a disgusting state. There was black mould in some of the corners, dead insects on the window ledge & hanging from webs in the bathroom. The top of the fridge was covered in rust, there were damp spots all over the ceiling, the lounge was so badly stained that we didn't even sit on it, the cushions on the lounge were covered in black mould spots & the main bed was so old that the base was disintegrating. The outdoor furniture surrounding the fire pit was so dirty & dilapidated that again, no-one wanted to sit on it. For almost $3000, it fell way short of our expectations.

Most amazing property for our wedding weekend!
We had the most amazing stay at Addisons in preparation for our wedding, even with all the rain and being indoors for majority of the time we had plenty of room to sit and enjoy the birds and view. The owners were extremely helpful and were able to contact if needed and we will definitely be coming back here again to enjoy the pool. Thank you so much.

Excellent escape for Adult family
Just ideal for an escape - Perfect location hidden away but easy to venture out for walks around local shops and markets, hike the hills or canoe the lake, or take in a long lunch at The Tamarind. We did all and also had days when we just didnt leave the verandahs. Perfect

Wonderful getaway location
We spent most of our time relaxing and enjoying the natural environment surrounding the house. The pool was kept in 1st class condition and a welcome place to cool off. The owner was very helpful assisting with a minor issue that didn't affect our holiday at all. A great place to relax and wind-down prior to Christmas.

Beautiful surroundings
Beautiful gardens to explore that are well maintained. Great communication with the owners. Quite noisy at night. Some wildlife walk around the balcony that’s loud enough to wake someone. Quite a bit of their deposits left behind on pathways too. You need to watch your step! The owners have left plenty of insect repellant available which was great as we forgot ours! The hammock on the balcony is a lovely feature. Great fireplace (indoor) which we used every night!

Totally chilled out three days with family and time to recharge. The house is spacious and well kitted out great deck and amazing grounds. Less than 10 minute drive to Monteville centre and close to the dam and water. Lots of great places to visit in the location and fabulous house to return to for fire and relaxation. Thoroughly recommend

Perfect getaway!
My sisters and I stayed for 4 nights and Addison's was the perfect place to relax and reconnect. We loved everything about our stay - all of the comforts of home, the peace and quiet, being able to just be together and enjoy each other's company without having to go anywhere or do anything. Communications with Simone were perfect as we did have some questions in the lead up to our stay. We would highly recommend Addison's and can see how the property would suit a variety of group types.

Enjoyable Stay
This property is a lovely old Queenslander with many original features. We were a group of five sisters who were getting together after too long apart, due to travel restrictions because of Covid19. There was plenty of room for us as we had no problem sharing beds. We had several afternoons playing pool in the studio a short walk from the main house. We did have a few issues with the property, but they were readily addressed by the owner. It was lovely to wake up to birds singing in the garden, and to sit on the wide verandahs drinking coffee or a glass of wine. The kitchen has good, easy to use appliances. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery. There was a shortage of things like oven cookware and lidded containers to store leftovers, but that is a minor thing. The wood fire was very welcome on a couple of extra cool nights, and there is plenty of wood stored for guest use. Overall,a very pleasant place to stay

Great Holiday Spot!
Our extended family stayed here over Easter, it’s a beautiful spot with plenty of space! Antony and Simone were great hosts and more than accomodating. Our only criticism was that the main house could have been a little bit cleaner (in particular, the BBQ) however, we relayed this back to Simone and Antony who would definitely look into it. We have chatted about trying to book this house in the future :)

Secluded Family Hideaway
Staying at Addison’s for 3 nights were 5 adults & 2 children plus our little pooch. We came to stay as attending a wedding at Flaxton Gardens. We were very happy with the quirkiness that a Queenslander has to offer. My hubby & son slept in the studio shed near the pool, while the rest of us stayed in the main house. Plenty of space to spread out. Spent lots of time out on the back deck with views over the trees. Immediate rainforest next to the property with some paths to explore. Our dog was so taken with all the smells. He was safe & secure on the back deck while we attended the wedding. Heard lots of birds but didn’t see any. Very peaceful and private location with access via a cool winding driveway through the trees. All our 2 wheel drives accessed without a problem even in the wet. Pool lovely and clean, with easy remove cover. There were plenty of essential items supplied in the kitchen and bathroom, laundry if required. Wood ready for the fire, which we had to try once. Lovely! Netflix and Wifi was much appreciated as only Telstra service reached, no Vodafone there. Filtered rainwater in the house taps was great drinking water.

Quiet time with the family
Our young family were very taken with the property. There were plenty of options for all age groups - and temperaments - both indoors and outdoors. The outstanding feature, though, is simply the setting. Enjoying the beautiful surrounds is something special. Doing so while also having the comforts of the lovely house, pool and extra guest suite (converted pool shed) meant that we truly had the best of both worlds. We very much look forward to our next stay!
