This charming Oak Bluffs vacation rental is the perfect choice for a group that wants something a bit upscale. With tons of entertainment options and a gorgeous gourmet kitchen, this home away from home has something for everyone. With light walls, hardwood floors, and high ceilings, the living room feels refined and welcoming. A selection of books and board games is available, so whether you feel sociable or not, you've got options. Settle into the couch and watch something on cable or a DVD, or pick something off Netflix. If you're feeling mellow, put some music over the stereo and have a chat with your friends, or log onto the WiFi to find an ambitious recipe to make for dinner.

Boasting granite counters and stainless steel appliances, the gourmet kitchen is as beautiful as it is functional. Wake up in the morning and brew some fresh coffee, or blend some local produce to make a delicious smoothie. A mixer cuts down on prep time, and a dishwasher takes care of the bulk of the cleanup so you can focus on the fun parts of your vacation. On warm summer afternoons, head outside to the deck for a barbecue. Though the dining table inside is a lovely place for a meal, food always tastes a bit better out in the fresh air, while gazing at the trees!

There are three comfy bedrooms, which sleep up to six guests in style. The master bedroom has a plush queen bed, an en suite bathroom, and a flatscreen TV. Of the other bedrooms, one has a queen bed and the other has two twins. They share a second bathroom, making it easy to schedule mirror time in the morning. A private washer and dryer are available, so don't fret about having enough clean linens. This lovely Martha's Vineyard vacation home is a wonderful place to relax, surrounded by beauty and your nearest and dearest.

Located on a quiet residential lane in Oak Bluffs, it's easy to get around the town by walking or biking. It's under a mile to the water to the northwest, and almost exactly a mile to the east you'll find Oak Bluffs's eateries and shops. Visit the East Chop Lighthouse (the last lighthouse on the island to be built) and enjoy the spectacular view. Take the kids to the Flying Horses Carousel, which is the oldest carousel in the nation and a National Historic Landmark. When you're done, grab a bite to eat at the delightfully named Slice of Life. Leave room for dessert - you're going to want to try the cheesecake. Depending on what you're up for, there are plenty of excellent beaches to choose from. Oak Bluffs Town Beach is a great place to take the kids, as the water is calm and ideal for swimming. If you're feeling a bit adventurous, head to Joseph Sylvia Beach and try your hand at windsurfing!

If charming means old worn-out stained furniture, squeaky doors, hair-filled drain, loose fixtures, and a lopsided bed, then charming it is! To be fair, location, cable, Wi-Fi, and kitchen were a plus. BUT, no way is this worth $700+

Things Not What They Seem
The asking price for a weeks rental was not worth it due to the condition (maintenance and cleanliness) of the house. For example, the toilets are old and clogged easily due to just paper, flapper stuck, and they need to replace them The furniture is not exactly as advertised and it was dirty. Owners or property manager could have easily steamed cleaned the living room furniture. The love seat is not the one shown and it was really dirty. This house was given a facelift, the bathrooms will reveal it as well as bdrm furniture. I wanted the unit because of the kitchen, we cook. The dishes had gone thru the dishwasher, but some pots were still not clean. The boiler part of the stove, had not been cleaned and its pan was dirty. The top of the stove was not clean either. If you rent the space, you will see what I'm talking about. The deck was filthy. After the effects of hurricane, they put out the dirty furniture, didn't wipe it down or sweep and clean the dirt from the deck. Anytime you rent a space like this, they usually have staples, like paper towels, foil, etc. They did have a sparse amount. Really, they depend on the renters to leave their left overs. Be prepared to buy those incidentals. This property should have been at least $2000 less. .

!!! Not exciting experience !!!
On the day of check-in, it was discovered that the front door locks were broken. We had to use the back entrance to enter the house during our four-day stay. We had to use our phone lights at night to navigate the backside. Door to master bathroom did not shut. The fact that their hot water tank was broken and there was no hot water was the worst thing I have ever witnessed. We had to take a shower in ice-cold water. I had to call customer support multiple times. Last day, a service technician and a plumber arrived to fix the front door locks and hot water. We looked to be there to repair the owners' house issues during our time off. Even after repeatedly contacting customer service, the Vacasa manager never called.

Weekend Family Getaway
The location was convenient to Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, but the house was not cleaned well. There was a large pile of sand was in the corner near the front door. We needed to sweep and the floor had more sand and dog hair. There were spiders and spiderwebs in various rooms. The outdoor shower was not cleaned and the outdoor table had black smears. If the property had been cleaned after the last guest, it had been a while ago.

"Dirty" Experience
We wouldn't label this home as "charming" as the title states: We had recently rented this home along with another couple.The biggest concern was how filthy the house was. We came with two young children, one 15 month old and an 11 month old. Which Don knew about as I spoke to him several times prior to our arrival and specifically about the kids. The floors were dirty, there was dust under the best. the other couple, the wife found a dirty thong in their room. There were little gnats flying around. Seriously not conducive conditions to keeping young children. When we called Don to tell him about this, he said he can send a cleaning crew, the cleaning crew came and did nothing, because the house was still dirty. This house needs a serious cleaning. It doesn’t even smell fresh. My daughters socks were black every day from the floor. The house was actually cleaner when we left as we cleaned up. We used a few forks, as we mainly ate out, when we went to open the dishwasher before our departure it was packed with dishes, probably from the previous stay. Isn’t that the cleaning crews job to empty that???? The best part is that in the listing it is labeled that there are two “Queen” size beds, there is no way that the beds we slept on are Queen size beds, they are more like full. My husband has serious neck issues and he was literal physically sick after leaving, he barely was able to drive back home as he was in so much physical pain. He took over 10 advils. We were uncomfortable and overall not a good experience for us. I have been calling back to follow-up regarding our stay, they said they would call me back, which no one ever did.I then tried calling again, and no one answers the phone. At this point, pretty done with these games they are playing. Renters beware, I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.

Nice and Quiet, but not as clean as it should be
Loved it EXCEPT: initially unable to get in using backdoor lockbox as instructed(didn’t work-couldn’t unlock it). We were on forever hold with VACASA management/never reached anyone until we figured out another lockbox was on front door(didn’t work either-got key out but couldn’t lock the key in box at end of stay) I feel like we should get a discount on our cleaning fee as the cleaners left the floors under the furniture quite filthy(which we could see from standing from the side and we moved the furniture some to play a game). Cleaners need to simply run the mop under the open space below the furniture. Also the small coffee pot was disgusting with mold in the pot and the filter basket. Cleaners likely cleaned the big coffee pot but not the small one. We left the home cleaner than we arrived- I cleaned the coffee pot and dry-mopped the floors. The home had a nice fireplace with wood stacked in the back yard, but no instructions on how or whether we could use it(no fire starter materials). We would have loved to make a fire for the cold mornings.

Nice roomy place
Not very clean. Master bedroom bathroom window does not lock and that toilet runs after flushing. The toilet was dirty. Washing machine does not work...at least get clothes clean. The bathroom rugs were filthy..we put those in the washer when we left so the next party can have clean rugs. Pillow on the loveseat has a white stain smear on a pillow... (snot or worse), blinds on sliding glass door have blinds missing blinds..anyone can see in. The lockbox in the master bedroom would not open to get the extra key.

The house was clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed staying here although it was a healthy hike into town. The house was clean and comfortable. It would have been helpful if essentials like toilet paper were provided as we did not have a car & carrying bulky items on ferry or from the store is cumbersome. We biked to most places & it is a long , uphill grade back to the house from town-a good workout! It would also have been nice to have some information, maps, restaurant guide etc. at the house for review.
