Elegant one-bedroom flat with French doors, terraced gardens and a view of San Francisco Bay and Mt. Tam. Enjoy your trip to Oakland in this Mediterranean setting — you'll truly feel like you've had a vacation!

The Space

Luxurious apartment in Upper Rockridge with separate entrance, soothing gardens and beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. French doors from the living room and bedroom open on to a private terrace. Take your morning coffee overlooking the multi-level Italianate gardens with fountain, paths and bougainvillea-laden trellis.

The apartment features one bedroom with queen-sized organic bed, side tables, walk-in closet, dresser, tiled bathroom, living room, dining area and kitchen. A pull-out sofa in the living room can accommodate additional guests (no more than 3 adults in party, please).

We supply spices, olive oil, vinegar, ground coffee, an assortment of herbal and caffeinated teas, along with a full kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and plateware.

Location

Conveniently located just off of Broadway Terrace, you're in easy reach of everything the city offers while nestled quietly above it. Rockridge's restaurants and boutique shops are a 6-minute drive, and downtown Oakland is only a few minutes further with easy freeway access nearby.

* Note that this apartment is at the base of two sets of stairs. While most guests won’t have difficulty, the stairs could be challenging for folks with bad knees or other similar ailments.

Lovely Unit

The unit is clean and well equipped although it has a tiny kitchen. The bonus is the large outdoor garden with a view that makes this unit so special. We will definitely stay here again!

Oakland stay

The property was located at the bottom of a walkway with many steps. This was fine for us but if you had many heavy suitcases it might prove to be difficult. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with pots,pans, dishes and drink ware. Lighting in the bathroom was temperamental and the entry door was a little fussy. The grounds were beautiful and the host was attentive to our needs.

Great Location!

Our July vacation was great! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Apartment was extremely clean, plenty of space and fantastic outdoor gardens with wonderful views, and easy parking. The photos of the location were true to what we saw when we arrived. We felt safe and found it easy to venture out on day trips including catching the BART into San Francisco. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I strongly recommend this location if you are visiting the San Francisco Bay Area.

Quiet, comfortable apartment

We stayed here while visiting family in Oakland and very much appreciated this apartment. It does indeed have a beautiful garden and lots of light. The description is quite accurate except that there is no hot tub. The owners are friendly and not intrusive. The apartment is well stocked and very pleasant, even in rainy weather. We will happily return!

This apartment is in a hilly and safe area of Oakland. It is quiet and private feeling. The apartment opens directly on to a beautiful garden that feels very isolated. It is a great place for catching up on work or reading. It is very comfortable and clean and has everything you need for coffee/tea/cooking.

Spacious, well lit, fully equipped 1BR apartment in lovely hillside neighborhood just a short drive to Piedmont, Montclair and College Avenue shopping and dining districts. For a nice day of exercise and exploring, walk the mile or so down to College for the superb baked goods at Market Hall. Excellent bed. Walk in closet. Spacious shower. Easy, free street parking— comparatively safe for cars because the upscale neighborhood is a maze of narrow streets and avenues. Note to seniors: 38 steps, well lit, down to unit from street. Would be tough if you are not in fairly good shape.

Delivers as pictured

This sublet rental is part of a beautiful home in the Rockridge Hills. The garden looks and feels like a garden in a Tuscan villa. The unit was very clean and well appointed in terms of household items for your every need away from home. The closet is a very generous size with plenty of hangers, drawers, suitcase stands etc. The bed is very comfy, kitchen is well stocked. (dishes, pans, glasses- more than enough of everything!) Freeway entrances are close by ( via car) . Very quiet neighborhood. I particularly liked that the unit smelled (and was) very clean, all the bedding, towels etc were not laundered with detergents that carried a harsh or strong smell of any kind. The owners were very response and available. As former Oakland residents on vacation, my husband and I found this rental to be everything we hoped and wanted it to be.
