The breakfast buffet was one of the most spectacular we have ever seen in Sweden during the past 25+ years, served in an ancient hall with arches and beautiful windows. And the free parking was right outside the door to our hotel building! FIVE STARS!!"

"A wonderful experience to stay in an authentic old converted nunnery across the street from the world famous abbey and many other sites and a block from the water. Also breakfast was delicious and the beds comfortable. "

Hotellet erbjuder ett riktigt bra gym – ett av de bästa jag stött på när det kommer till hotellgym, dessutom helt gratis! Padelbanorna var också ett stort plus, perfekt både för träning och nöje. Personalen var otroligt trevlig, hjälpsam och gjorde att man kände sig välkommen direkt. Rekommenderar verkligen det här stället till alla som vill kombinera avkoppling med träning. Hotel Gyllene Uttern

"The main building of the Gyllene Uttern looks like a Scandinavian castle. Perched high above Lake Vättern, it has a grand view of the lake, whether from a large terrace, one of its several lounging spaces, a glassed-in dining room, or from rooms facing the lake. It also has a baronial dining room, in which the very good breakfast buffet is laid out. We dined there in the evening, as well, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed comfortable suites overlooking the lake. The one disadvantage is that the old, castle-like hotel does not have an elevator, which made carrying up luggage a challenge, especially as we three couples were of ages 60 to 82. There was no indication of staff to assist with the luggage, which is the reason I gave "Staff & Service" 4 stars instead of 5. It has two newer two-story auxiliary buildings, which do have elevators. We have stayed in these before. The rooms are very comfortable, but not as charming as staying in a pseudo castle. "
