Only negatives were no late room service due to having no stock on both nights understandable with it being 1st & 2nd January but slightly disappointing but got an UberEats so all good. Secondly despite late check out and confirming this with staff and putting do bot disturb sign on door housekeeping still came into room 2 hours before checkout time while we were in. "Great value for money accomodation. Location was amazing. Can be a bit noisy if you are looking out at the square. Very clean . Very comfortable twin beds and lovely shower. Looking around the hostel, it seemed what a hostel should be with different nationalities mingling in the kitchen and TV room. Easy checking in. Loved the place. Would recommend to anyone"

"The Malmaison was a lovely little get away for a night as a couple, nothing bad to say really other than sad no upgrade options were available when we checked in and the light in the room was broken so was quite dark. Plus side cheeky little Ferrero Rocher left for us and robes which was a nice touch "

"The room was lovely and well appointed, but unfortunately the settee was against the wall opposite the window, where as the TV was opposite the bed!! It really should have been on an arm that swivelled. The safe door would not stay shut and because the bathroom door was opposite, if you closed the bathroom door, the safe door would then trap it shut. It took a bit of manoeuvring to hold it close and open the bathroom door. Due to the time of year, the dinner menu, was very much reduced and...

"Property is tired and rooms need upgrade for price charged. 8 o'clock breakfast is too late for an early v start"

"Generally fine, although I tried to ask many times and our booking was for 4, there was not an extra bed on arrival. However this was quickly resolved as they added a bed. We were the only people at breakfast the next morning and the lady was very nice. 8 particularly liked Vegetarian breakfast with veggie haggis!"
