An hour before arriving we received a message to say the main bathroom toilet was blocked and they weren’t going to fix it before our stay, meaning the only toilets available were inside the 2 en-suite bathrooms. "The property was great, very spacious with plenty of room for our extended family, 7 people total. Everything was well taken care of. The kitchen was very well stocked, and communication was great. Location was terrific, with lots of great shops and restaurants. One thing to be aware of is that there are several flights of stairs to get to the flat. That was a bit of a surprise, but we were able to manage it."

Great option with teens

"Chose this hotel as we are travelling as a family with my teen and their friend. Wanted a separate space for them without it being a second room booking. Stayed in the Dainton suite and it was just what we needed. Two bedrooms with their own shower and a shared bathroom. Cost was comparable to the price of a standard family room in other city hotels. "Excellent stay; the room was a decent size and was quite peaceful, despite the fact that it overlooked the square below and that there was live music playing, which we enjoyed listening to in the square but we could hardly hear it from our room. The staff were courteous and respectful, and the hotel was clean and welcoming."

"The house is a very unique house with a deep history set in extensive formal gardens. The staff, particularly in reception and the Restaurant are attentive and very pleasant. The age and design of the house allows functions such as weddings and prom parties to be held without disturbing other guests. It may be a little dog-eared but that seems to add to its charm."
