Fantastic location
Montserrat is not for everyone. It is remote and typical Caribean amenities are less available. The island runs almost strictly on a cash economy and there is only 1 bank machine. We (adult couple and 2 teens) booked a stay here for 4 days and want nothing but to come back, hopefully to Julian's place. Communication ahead of time was excellent with Julian's on island contact Susan. I did not know but a vehicle is necessary so she arranged one last minute. The house is one of a few on a steep hill and former plantation. Each home far enough away from each other you dont see your neighbours. As with all of Montserrat, there are chickens and lizards everywhere. Our house was perfect. Great views of the sea, we sat and watch the volcano vent from the patio in the early evening The kitchen is small but not too small. The beds are very nice.
But the best part was the introduction to Winston, on island for 50 years, former deputy police chief, now a business man who picked us up from the ferry, gave us advice on where to go, and took us on a tour of Plymouth. All worth while. I highly recommend this place.
