Standing at over 291.1 metres (955 feet), if you include the antenna, the Olympiaturm rises high above the city of Munich. The Olympic Tower was constructed as part of Olympic Park, the site of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Now, it operates as both an observation point and a working communications broadcast tower.
Purchase tickets at the base of the tower and then take the 30-second elevator ride to the observation deck. Take in the unique view of Munich and spot important locations in the city using the silhouette map. On clear days, visitors can see as far as the Salzkammergut and the Allgäu Alps. If feeling adventurous, step onto the outdoor viewing area, which is subject to strong gusts of wind.

Treat yourself to a meal atop Olympic Tower in the revolving Restaurant 181. Named for its 181-metre (593.8-feet) height, the restaurant is headed by Michelin star recipient Chef Otto Koch, whose menu is of the highest quality. While you dine, the restaurant revolves beneath you, completing a revolution every 53 minutes, and giving every table a panoramic view. The restaurant is quite popular, so make a reservation to guarantee a table. Have appetizers as the sun sets and enjoy entrees while looking over the lights of Munich.
After descending from the tower, stop in the gift shop for a souvenir.
The Olympic Tower opens in the morning and the last elevator ascends at 11:30 p.m. Parking is available for a fee at the nearby Olympic Park.
