Five miles from the UAW Black lake golf club, 10,000 acre black lake, feet away from the trails and lasting memories. Perfect for hunters as this property is very close to surrounding state land. Centrally located from Rogers city, Mackinac, Petoskey and Gaylord. Bring your boats, quads, side by sides, snowmobiles and explore beautiful Northern Michigan. Quiet getaway
Wonderful setting within range of all of the northern Michigan sites and trails. Travel to Mackinac City to see the Fort or go onto the Island, or see the many State Parks for hiking and shoreline town shopping. Close to the only Waterfalls in the lower peninsula, and also located close to Onaway park with metal art works by a local that will turn your head. Wonderful viewing of area wildlife and I recommend the stay.

Beautiful Weekend Getaway
My husband and I chose to stay here for our annual northern Michigan winter getaway weekend. The house was beautiful and was probably the cleanest home we have rented so far, which says a lot! The bed is kind of a memory foam - I loved it and he hated it, so it's just a personal preference. We explored Awakon Park, which has some neat sculptures scattered along some trails. Had a great dinner at Wood Winds Restaurant then enjoyed drinks and karaoke at Al's Onaway Bar. We had a great time relaxing for the weekend. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely Cabin in Meadow
We were sooooo happy with the cabin. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The furnishings were beautiful, the outdoor area was perfect for mornings with coffee. The peacock was an absolute bonus! All in all, very nice property.

Relaxing Getaway near many lakes and trails
There is so much to do outdoors here! Situated in the NE lower peninsula, you can drive to the west or east shoreline in under an hour and Mackinac in 45min. It’s also right down the road from Onaway State Park and Black Lake. We especially enjoyed Hoeft State park and Forty Mile Point lighthouse (30min drive). Onaway is a small town but has everything you need- a few restaurants, grocery store, outdoor store, speedway, and iron art park. I even found a rare Stephen King book at a little used book/record store there. The cabin is beautiful and so clean and comfortable. Maj-lis really provides everything- from TP to coffee- you are well stocked! I enjoyed cooking on the gas stove- such a treat, as I have an electric at home. Clark the peacock (we nicknamed him HeyHey) was one of the highlights of our stay! I did not expect him to be so friendly and tame! We loved relaxing on the large cabin porch and enjoying the views. The cabin is surrounded by corn fields and a garden of sunflowers and zinnias. The nights were cool (mid-July) and perfect for fires out back and star gazing. It was not quite as private as I had expected (renters to the right who we barely saw and a few visits from caretakers of the property), but we didn’t mind - we had the pleasure of meeting the owner and her father and they seem like the nicest people who put a lot of love into the property. They even provided a dog crate for us so we didn’t have to travel with ours. Thank you so much Maj-lis!

Darling Cabin
We enjoyed our stay and the upgrades in the darling cabin. We were disappointed, however, that there were so many acres advertised, but they were not manicured/mowed for walking. Just not useable for us which was one of the reasons for selecting this cabin. The host had most everything that one would need available. The views were very nice. Thanks for having us!!

Relaxing Getaway
Rural environment but close to town. My husband and I enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the porch overlooking the fields. A beautiful resident peacock was friendly and visited us each evening. Cabin itself was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Everything worked! A high-point for us was hiking at nearby Ocqueoc Falls. The cabin was home base as we explored a bit of northern Michigan in the early spring. Highly recommend this lovely getaway.

What a Dream!
Incredible, beautiful, clean, every detail down to sleds for kids to play in the snow. Unbelievable service. The cabin is exquisite and the perfect example of an up north getaway. We loved it so much we booked another stay before we were through with this one. Cannot wait to go back!

Felt like home!
This property is amazing! Not one detail was missed. By far the best VRBO we have stayed in! The log cabin has a cozy rustic feel and is nicely decorated. Extremely clean, beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels, all amenities were up to date. Property is located close to a main trail for snowmobiling. It made going for a ride real easy. We felt right at home. We will most certainly be coming back!

Communication was great with the owner! The house was beautiful and close by the city. Everything was as listed except they were out of coffee. Not at all a problem, only thing is I would have brought some with me and didn’t. Bed was super comfortable and had an adjustable mattress, except we didn’t figure that out until the morning we left. The house was very clean and everything was green- environmentally conscious. Their was a neighbor rental next door that we didn’t realize would be there, which was a little disappointing, but they were not a problem at all. The land was spacious for walking our dogs and exploring. We spent our evenings playing g games which were supplied with the cabin which made nice relaxing family time. The property was set up nicely for the summer with porches and furniture. We can only imagine how nice that would have been.

The house is in a nice spot right off a main road and was easy to find and access. We were very happy with how it was equipped, seems like the host/owner thought of almost everything. Internet and streaming worked well. Everything is in good shape and it was very comfortable stay. Very happy with our decision to stay there.

Quiet, serene getaway
Coming up from the Grand Rapids area to visit family for the holidays and this property was close to family and a wonderful reprieve to relax in! Even with a literal blizzard it was warm, cozy and clean. Our pups were able to join us, which we appreciate that it was animal friendly because it wouldn’t be the holidays without our fur family! A perfect cabin atmosphere and our host was wonderful. Highly recommend and we will be returning!!
