The resort looks the same as it did 20 years ago so it is a time warp but it is exceptionally clean and maintained. For example the rooms and corridors are dark decor dark carpets; the rooms still have bathtubs that you have to climb into to take a shower. There is no evident sustainability, no recycling in the room; and they still use individual packaged bathroom amenities. But the rooms are exceptionally clean, very spacious, with great views. The parking fee of thirty two dollars is normal for Orlando resorts but is glaring here because the room rates are very low. There also is a ten dollar charge to use the gym. This is mainly a convention hotel so the vibe can depend on the groups that day. For example on arrival there were forty guests in front of me in a long line down the lobby, but the Shingle Creek team is prepared for this with a lot of staff and they had the line cleared within just a few minutes. No problem at all but was a shock at first arrival. The food pricing was all reasonable. The value is unbeatable if you don’t need to be in a brand new hotel.
