If you’ve ever heard of forest bathing, it happens here on contact. The cute, mid-mod cabin is surrounded by red and white pines towering overhead, bustling birds darting through the forest, resident eagles sweeping over the shoreline, and local deer appearing and disappearing with regularity. The geographic beauty is national-park-level stunning as we are 30 minutes from two different entry points to Voyageurs NP. Add on a well thought-out, private, multi-level lakeside recreation area and dock, and you really don’t have to leave, but town is 10 minutes by boat or car.
The cabin and surrounding point used to be a summer camp 20+ yrs ago and this had been the director’s cabin. The big kitchen is fully stocked for cooking on site with a BBQ, blender, griddle, etc. The large master suite has a private bathroom, and the bunkroom is great for everyone else. Fishing is abundant right off the dock, thus the eagle nest on the point next door, and sunsets are always amazing to watch around the lakeside solo stove campfire.
Pelican Lake is Minnesota’s 11th largest at over 11,000 acres and 40+ islands. It has hosted national bass fishing tournaments and MN state high school fishing championships, so it’s a well-regarded fishing lake. You can bring your boat and tie up here and there is enough space on site to park your trailer. If you would be interested in renting a boat, please inquire about the Crestliner. There are two complimentary stand-up paddle boards and a canoe for you to explore the lake in as well.
