The queueing is AWFUL - took 2 hours to get in due to only 2 security x-ray desks at Gate A (but around 3000 people in the queue!). Either do an 'express' tour or get there at 8am to get your ticket and begin queueing. Take water and wear comfortable shoes. You'll need a whole day for both palace and gardens. Whilst Versailles is gorgeous, it is exhausting! NOT a place to take smaller children - they will hate it.
Long lines but was holiday season
pre book tickets with a guided tour included. Very informative.
Too crowded. We went on a Tuesday. It's closed Mondays so it might have been busier than other week days. Stunning palace but there needs to be more control on numbers entering at any time.
Really expensive entry fee
