"I want to be very clear about this...Reviews are typically sort of "pass/fail." Anything less than 5 stars is a "fail." In this case, the property is an EMPHATIC 5 stars! The home is exactly as pictured. Watching the waves crash on the volcanic coast and come up through the blowhole on the property was mesmerizing. The hosts communicate well. We arrived to a home with Hawaiian music playing and lights on as we arrived at dusk. Really nice touch. Now, also be aware that this property is remote, so if you want to be in town and close to restaurants, etc, this is not the place for you. Be sure to locate it on a map before you commit to be sure it will meet your demands. It greatly exceeded ours! This is a peaceful slice of heaven. Be sure to hike down the coastline which is all lava and provides never ending variations in the ways in which the waves crash into the rocks. Kudos to Carl and Debbie who are true 5 star hosts."

"Our 4th time to stay here. Love the location and listening to the surf at night. We saw all kinds of marine life as well as cardinals, mynas and other birds. A windy road getting in and out,but all part of the experience. Dan is a great host, available if needed. The closest town,Ocean view, is a nice place to go for dinner or groceries. A great place to go for relaxation and away from the party crowd."

"1st time at a yurt. The room was nice. The place was in a more secluded area, but not far from highway access. Being far out, there wasn't a sewer system in place, so the toilet system took us off guard. Overall, nice place and staff was great to work with. "

"This was an amazing tropical paradise! Tropical open air rooms with fabulous decor and healing mediative areas to enjoy the tranquility in Captain Cook. Less than 2 miles from the popular snorkeling spot "Two Step" and the historical monument known as "Place of Refuge". The breakfast was excellent with multiple fruits, breads, oatmeal, nut butters, chia and yogurt, and huge selection of local jams. Staff was helpful - especially Ausin who showed us the fruit trees all over the grounds including the labyrinth and yoga area. we will definitely be staying again; we stayed in the writers Studio- truly offered all the comforts of home.
