"Great hotel in Monte Gordo, we had a fabulous stay in a wonderful town with amazing beach and very close to the Spanish border. Staff were grand, we had a very good buffet breakfast, main items to choose from. Very close to beach and shops. If needed there is a 2 1/2 mile walk to the border town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio along a straight road but the beach walk is glorious although twice the distance. Beach is just fantastic. "Apartment style. Dirty and stained sheets. No sleeping pillows. Cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom and a colony of ants in the living room. Breakfast was a fixed menu of stale pastries and frozen/not fresh fruit, no buffet. Overall more of a 2-3 star experience than 5 star. "

"What a beautiful hotel! Impeccably renovated from a former palace. The rooms are the perfect combination of modern and historic. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. They also provide one the best breakfast buffets that I have experienced. The location is right off the main plaza with many small shops and restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to stay here again!"

"Only stayed at the property for one night and for the first time. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Hotel was maintained very well and clean. The hotel style is older, 1970’s charm. The views from the room were over the town of Ayamonte, and Vila Real de Santo António across the river in Portugal. Great views of the Bridge as well. The bar area is comfortable and has both an inside and outside seating area. Parking is easy and right outside the main door. 10min walk downhill to the town center. I will stay there again."
