"These were hands down the most comfortable beds and pillows we've experienced on this trip to Europe, and the trip included stays at three Hiltons and several other Hilton properties. Breakfast at FH Witt is also slightly better than at some/most Euro Hiltons. Not way better, good variety but exceptional quality. Room service was amazing. Dozens of good-quality restaurants within 5 blocks. Parking is extremely easy, we parked right in front of the entrance for a few euros every evening....

"It is a bit old and worn-down, with lots of historic ambiance. The bed was very comfortable. Having more furniture to put our stuff on would have been nice. The breakfast buffet was five-star; I could easily see people staying there for breakfast alone. Perfect gravlax, many coldcuts, cheese, cereals, a great selection of bread, and one morning, there was even a specially baked chocolate cake!"

"This is a good hotel for families but for me it wasn’t a good experience as, unfortunately, I didn’t check if there was AC and the temperatures at that time were around 40 degrees, making it almost impossible to sleep. "This property suited our needs for an overnight stay. Parking was easy and convenient. They offered a breakfast buffet in the morning that was nice. The room was clean, as was the property. We never interacted with anyone, so if we had any questions, it might have been difficult. The area around the hotel seemed commercial, but we were just there for an overnight stay for nearby visit. "The pictures do not do it justice. If you are from North America this will give you the ultimate cozy Scandinavian vibe. The lighting, candles even during breakfast, and room decor was such a welcome in the cold rainy days in October. It was bare bones with no conditioner, shampoo, hair dryer but still simple, cozy with warm people working there. The beautiful library is across the street and great to see. So quick and easy to the downtown centre. Centrally located. We loved our stay!!"

"We’ve stayed here several times, location is lovely on the waterfront. Nice staff. The breakfast is wonderful and plentiful, the bar is nice, especially summertime. The rooms themselves are basic, pillows very flat, very thin towels, a very small glass for water. Absolutely nothing extra, nor even cosy, but comfortable enough to sleep. We’ve always had a water view, which is lovely. Our family lives walking distance from hotel, so it’s the location for us. "

"If you are with a family it's not the place to stay. The room is small with the tiniest toilet I have ever been in. I am not large built I found it extemely hard to sit on the wc. The reception closes at 9pm so if you are late and your cell phone is not working, you cannot enter into the building. Think twice a and Plan well if you want to book this place. "

"The pictures do not do it justice. If you are from North America this will give you the ultimate cozy Scandinavian vibe. The lighting, candles even during breakfast, and room decor was such a welcome in the cold rainy days in October. It was bare bones with no conditioner, shampoo, hair dryer but still simple, cozy with warm people working there. The beautiful library is across the street and great to see. So quick and easy to the downtown centre. Centrally located. We loved our stay!!"

Best option for Ironman Kalmar

"I stayed here for Ironman Kalmar and cannot recommend it enough. I changed my travel plans last minute to arrive a day early and stay in a different local hotel. I asked if early check-in would be possible as I had to vacate the first place by 11am, and the receptionist was so friendly and helpful in putting a note on my reservation, and then letting me know the next morning I could check in before 11 because a room was ready. The breakfast was phenomenal. They opened up at 4am on race morning and had everything I thought I needed plus more. (Fruit smoothie, ginger juice shot with chili, pancakes with real maple syrup, so many different breads, meats, cheese, fruit, salads etc. in addition to your typical breakfast.) Finally, checkout the day after the race was delayed 2 hours, which I've never experienced at any other race, but which would've been much appreciated had I not opted to stay an extra day (specifically to avoid having to pack up and be out by 10:30am)."
