Like most areas in Australia, we need to be mindful of water use. The water for house use is sourced from a rainwater tank and for this reason, we thank you to be careful to have short showers of a suggested length of two minutes. This will ensure there is enough water for you and your guests during your stay and also for future guests.
Likewise, we must ensure our beautiful garden is water-wise. This means that in the cooler and kinder months, our plants thrive with great beauty. However, in Summer (with heatwaves and water restrictions) our garden is challenged by dry earth and sunny skies. Please be aware that although we do our best, like most gardens in our area of Australia, our garden is waiting for the cooler months to renew and thrive!
Please be mindful of the fire restrictions from December 1 - March 31 inclusive and be aware of any current fire bans in the area before lighting any fires outside or in the wood heater inside.
Our home is in the heart of the Australian bush. We are visited almost daily with bands of kangaroos, magpies, kookaburras, the fairy splendid wren and small forest birds like the silvereye. Unfortunately, we also have a few friendly bugs that while they nourish our wildlife, they can also be annoying to the typical visiting human being! While we try to do our best to keep these unwanted guests away from our home, they are persistent and you may come across one or two of the little critters. Having said that, aren't you here to enjoy our natural surrounds well away from the shiny lights of the city?
This home is a beautifully timbered house and has its own character and charm. Please be aware that this is a character home full of interesting and well crafted features. It is not a modern house from the city- we hope that you can truly breathe deeply and enjoy all this location has to offer!
