Cosy Cottage with Spectacular Sea Views

Winslow Cottage is a delightful cosy cottage located in the Gwavas quarter of Newlyn and with links to the American maritime artist Homer Winslow. Perched above the harbour the first floor accommodation offers stunning views across Mounts Bay to St Michael's Mount and beyond. It's perfect for couples looking for a romantic and relaxing break in unspoilt Cornwall away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you have a recent addition to your family we can provide a travel cot and high chair on request. The cottage is ideally situated to explore both Newlyn, Mousehole and Penzance and the spectacular coast and unspoilt areas of the beautiful West Penwith.
Dogs are always welcome.
The outside area is a shared path with the neighbours but a small table and chairs allows you to have a glass of wine or two in the evening or breakfast alfresco in the sunshine. This gated area ensures safety from the road for dogs and children whilst you enjoy the views.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Lovely Cosy Cottage
Lovely little cottage, exactly as described and with everything you could need. Very grateful for the logs, which made for cosy evenings. The car parking was a little challenging, but we were made aware this could be the case, but luckily found spaces nearby. Thank you Mark and Fiona for looking after us so well!

Alovely little house with a beautiful view
Great location without being in an overly "touristy" town, this lovely little cottage was a great home away from home. Beautiful views across the bay towards St. Michaels Mount too.

Very small with steep stairs
Please be aware the stairs are very steep and narrow. I'm a gym go'er and found these tricky. The bed is comfy but short (hubs is 5'10 and had to lay at an angle. The 'sofa' isn't comfy, it's hard and upright. Parking: We had to park a ten min walk away in sandy cove car park which is pay as you go or £20 for the weekend by calling - it's safe.

Lovely quiet cosy cottage - great location.
Loved this cute cottage and its' location. Walking distance to Penzance and Mousehole if you need to. Able to take ferry to Scilly Isles. Convenient grocery shop for supplies also nearby pub and bakeries. The owners' attention to detail in the interior design and household appliances and supplies was amazing and was much welcomed and appreciated. View from upper floor window is spectacular. Definitely a romantic hideaway (not suitable for very young kids ie steep stair case). No parking at the cottage but a small public carpark very very close - had no problem at finding a spot during our weeks stay. Had an amazing time.

Small, but perfectly formed cottage
Overall, a 5 star experience. A very sweet, bijou & well presented cottage, a short walk from Newlyn’s amenities & excellent eateries and, within walking distance of Mousehole. The cottage has a wood-burning stove, supplied with a generous basket of logs, though we topped up with our own supply - it heated the place quickly and made it very cosy. The newly refurbished shower was excellent, with a plentiful supply of hot water, with good pressure. Whilst there was very restricted access to the bed (not helped by the extra wide foot board), the bedroom had a roomy dressing area with plenty of space for hanging clothes and storing bags out of the way. The bed was very comfortable and such a pleasure to sleep on Egyptian cotton bedding. The kitchen had everything needed to self-cater, though we were somewhat bemused by the draining board that drained water straight onto the floor! Communication from the hosts was excellent. A very enjoyable stay!

Newlyn cottage
We loved the fact that Newlyn was less touristy and an easy walk to Mousehole which is very pretty and unspoilt. Two local pubs we both great. The cottage was perfect for our needs but don’t expect the bed area to be spacious.

Simply Wonderful...
Me an my partner wanted to escape the bussle of London and enjoy stunning views and great food especially with him being a chef. We couldn't of picked a more perfect location in Winslow Cottage and Newlyn. I have got to say Winslow Cottage is even better in real life the photo's dont do it justice, it is clean, refreshingly bright and tastefully decorated and the views especially in the morning are just WOW. It is a short stroll into the harbour which has some fabulous local seafood restaurants including, Mackeral Sky, Argoe and The Tolcarne Inn. Tourism definitely hasnt hit Newlyn like other areas such as St Ives, which makes it all that bit better for a nice relaxing break. If you fancy a stroll there are fantastic local villages such as Mousehole which you can easily walk or ride too an has has stunning coastal paths finishing up at a quaint little sea-side town with lovely places to eat and the other way is St Michaels Mount which is absolutely stunning. All in all, I would absolutely recommend my only regret is not booking longer.

Awesome mini break
Our stay at Winslow Cottage was everything we hoped for. We wanted a quiet place to relax away from reality. The cottage was tastefully decorated and we loved the wood burner in the lounge. The only negative is we only had 3 days there. We would rent the cottage again in the future.

Stay here - you'll be glad you did!
I stayed at Winslow Cottage as a solo guest, wanting some peace and quiet, but wanting the option of access to Newlyn centre (5 minutes walk) when I fancied it and easy availability to Penzance and Mousehole as well (bus stop to both literally one minute from front door). My stay has been perfect, with Mark and Fiona being welcoming but unobtrusive, checking I was safely in, then leaving me in peace as they knew I was wanting a quiet break, but answering quickly when I ask for a cafe recommendation. I've had plenty of walks, sea gazing out at the harbour (one minute walk), watching the boats from upstairs, there's a telescope if that's your thing, and just sitting in cafes with the paper, before coming back to my lovely 2 storey home from home. Beautifully decorated with real care for style and comfort - there's loads of room and it feels really spacious as the cottage is not overstuffed with knickknacks, just tastefully observed. The kitchen has everything a cook could wish for (I'm not one, but I appreciate it!) and the woodburning stove in the sitting room was a real treat in October. As for the shower, huge, blissful, and you will struggle not to have three a day just so you can use it more! In a word - stay!

Newlyn Bay
Property was amazing. Well decorated and everything you need. Did not expect to pay for car parking and also paying for parking did not necessarily secure a saved spot. Recommended car park would of been ok but the harbour master was not available until after the weekend. Newlyn itself was ok. Limited with places to eat.

A well positioned and comfortable house just 55 strides from a car park, (which you can’t see as it’s around the corner.) We like staying in ‘real’ places not just holiday resorts and Newlyn didn’t disappoint. Hosts attentive without being intrusive, highly recommended.

The cottage was very clean, and immaculate in its presentation. There was a lovely welcome tray, with coffee, teas, biscuits and bubbly - for a special birthday. Waking up in the morning to a view over the bay to St Michael’s Mount was wonderful. Overall we would definitely visit again.

Winslow Cottage was a beautiful place to stay during our recent visit to Cornwall. The view over Newlyn Harbour and out to the sea beyond was stunning and the cottage itself was very pleasant to stay in. The decor and amenities were great and we appreciated all the little touches, including the welcome basket and humour of book titles in the cottage. The location was ideal and we enjoyed walks along to Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance. We appreciated that parking with a permit was located within a short walking distance to the cottage and that there were closer options at a reasonable price if we preferred. Mark and Fiona kept us informed and updated throughout the run up to, and during our stay. Although we couldn't take them up on the offer, we really appreciated them offering a longer stay when a cancellation took place before our visit. We will definitely be back and hope to stay in the cottage again next time!

Beautiful cottage.
What a beautiful cottage with all the home comforts. The welcome bottle of wine was just what we needed after the long drive. Lovely view across the bay from the large bedroom early morning cuppa with a view. We had a lovely stay exploring the local area, Penzance and Mousehole are only a short walk away. Couldn't recommend it more as a great base to explore the wonders of Cornwall. Parking was easy and only few minutes walk from the cottage.
