Wonderful weekend.

Spring break with son
My son and I traveled to Pepin to fish for a couple of days over Spring break. This property drew my attention because of it's cabin rusty look. It's a nice little property in a quite neighborhood. We did not find the garage useful. Be sure to remember your toiletries and any extra amenities you may want.

Pepin weekend
The house was cute. The outdoor patio was really nice. The shower was clean. We loved some of the unique features/finishes of the home. What we didn’t love was the harness of the mattress and living room furniture, the expired toothpaste that was provided (2021), the dirty extra blankets, and the unwashed wine glasses that were put back on the shelf. The house was fine for what we needed, but we probably would not stay here again.

Relaxing time in Pepin
Quiet neighbourhood. Big covered deck with ceiling fan was awesome. Furniture was basic but comfortable. Second bedroom was small and dark- OK for kids perhaps not for adults. Loved the shower.

Great location
Property was a great location for our activities. Would suggest whoever does the cleaning of this rental pay better attention, especially the bathroom. Areas missed with toilet, cobwebs and spider webs in shower and window sill in bathroom. There were blankets folded inside the ottoman in livingroom that were dirty. Overall a good experience.

The cottage was clean & fairly spacious. with the exception of very dusty window blinds and some cobwebs in the corners ,it was comfortable. It would be nice to have screen doors off back and front doors. The dilapidated garage off covered deck is very unattractive to look at but it is quiet and and easy walking distance to waterfront & restaurants. Pepin is a lovely river has a lot going for it. Would stay here again.

House in Pepin Wis.
Please fix the issues with the t.v. There is no local news. And the Netflix account did not work. You can get to Netflix but shows won't play. I'm assuming it's because the internet is slow. Please fix this. The house it's self is cute and cozy. The beds are hard as a rocks. Please invest in new beds. To stay someplace for a few nights and not have a good nights sleep because of the beds makes for a disappointing vacation.

Overstated claims with poor communication
The single biggest problem is that there was air conditioning ONLY in the master bedroom. During any kind of hot period (it was mid 80's for us) the rest of the unit is too hot to be in. That leads to the second problem - poor or overstated communications. You would expect to enter any unit from the street side but not here. Entry is primarily from the back. That lock box you look for is nowhere near the door. It's actually on the post you see in the back door picture and is VERY hard to find in the dark. Parking "behind the garage" (the real entry point) requires guessing where to drive across the grass. If you look for a couple of bare patches from the side street - that's the "alley" that leads to the dilapidated garage. The TV does not have channels but only Netflix (after I put new batteries in the remote!). Not even a starter pack of coffee in the kitchen. I tried to call the number to get assistance. No answer, no return call. Those "comfortable" surroundings? There is NO CLOSET for hanging clothes. You MUST live out of your suitcase because there are no drawers either. This is not a LAKE Pepin cottage but rather the city of Pepin. You can drive to the lake and marina but you probably won't walk what they call "6 blocks". There's a reason the pictures are minimal - they would show you the truth of this cottage.

Wasn’t clean.
I have emailed the owners twice with a list of several things about the property that were disturbing to us. Especially for the price of this property. The property was not clean at all. There was cobwebs all over, the shower had mold in it. There was pills on the bedroom floor. There was no garbage bags in the garbages and none in the house at all. The picnic table in the back yard was used by anyone in the neighborhood. The lock on the main entrance hardly worked. And some light fixtures were missing bulbs!

The cottage was very cute and exactly what we needed! We went to a wedding at a local winery and we were actually able to walk back to the cottage, so the location was great! Would definitely stay again!

DONT STAY HERE!!!!We DIDN'T Stay HERE! The house was not cleaned!!
We did not stay in the house because it was not cleaned. There was dish water in the sink, bedding on the floor, sheets in the washer, spider webs, dirty door handles, sticky floors. We asked for a refund but it took is about 2.5 HOURS on the phone, most of which was ON HOLD with VRBO Customer Service. I think the representative put us on hold and had a cup of coffee and talked to others to delay service. We checked in at 3:04 PM on check-in date and this was not fully resolved until about 7:00 PM. First they asked if we would finish cleaning the house. Then they told us at about 5:30 PM to return to the house because the housekeeper was returned or returning to clean it. I asked to clarify. Was the house clean or was it going to be cleaned. I was put on HOLD again for about 30 minutes. Then told the property manager was available to talk to us but put on hold for another 20 minutes. Extremely POOR service from VRBO and the owners. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOUSE!!!!

Great Place!
Overall we would definitely stay here again. My suggestion is to bring plenty of things to stay cool as there are 2 AC units but no central air so one bedroom is pretty hot at night. In the winter it looks like it did have baseboard heat throughout the cabin. Also may consider bringing any special pots/pans for cooking as the selection was pretty limited. Everything looked pretty clean when we arrived!
