"First off, the woman who opened up the villa was extremely rude and only showed my daughter in law around the villa, insisting everyone else should wait outside. Afer 15 minutes, I'd had enough and went in telling this lady we were coming in. Added to this, the smoke alarms throughout the villa did not work, and as there was no way of securing the separate apartments, we had to close the metal shutters at night. With no smoke alarms, this is unbelievably dangerous. The facilities were adequate...

"This a a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable in all areas, plenty of outside furniture around the pool. It's quite a climb up from the town (conversely an easy downhill walk into town which takes 10 mins). The upper terrace offers a wonderful view of the whole bay, the beach is an easy bus ride away or a slightly longer walk. We felt the handover was a bit rushed though, however communication with the owner was, on the whole, good."

Very clean, great location etc - all around worked out really well. The intimidating history of the property is immediately forgotten as soon as you walk in and walk the hotel. Food is delicious and the rooms, while cell-like (no pun intended) are comfortable. Don't let the history of the building scare you. This is a Jewel in Beziers. "

"This is just an unimaginably extraordinary hotel in a beautiful city. Felix and Arthur at the restaurant were just superb. "We stayed at the Hotel Port-Marine with extended family, 6 of us. The hotel exceeded our expectations: perfect location on the port of Sète, close to a plethora of restaurant and shopping, its own parking space (which would have been a nightmare without, especially during the heart of the French summer vacations), a short walk from a deep in the Mediterranean. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. Rooms are clean, functional, and all you need for a vacation stay / resort town. Breakfast buffet is copious and varied, in a large room with a fantastic view of the Mediterranean sea. Will return for sure. "

"I was asked for my credit card details to use “as a deposit” in case of problems with my room after I’d paid the room charge. My credit card now shows a charge of 311€ for no reason and I would like a refund as my room was left in good order. The bed was only adequate, the room was the usual standard size for this hotel chain (not very big) the breakfast was expensive considering the limited choice."

"Nice that they offer breakfast included on Expedia. The area around the hotel isn’t posh but we didn’t observe any criminality. Excellent security inside the hotel and parking was secure and affordable at 2€ per day. Oddly, the thermostat in our room was connected backwards - we had to put it to ‘heat’ to get a/c and had to turn it warmer to make it colder. "
