Come and enjoy pet-friendly Heron House--a dream location for avid fishers and scallopers!
This gorgeous three bedroom home sleeps 9 and sits directly on the Canal for quick access to some of the best fishing and scalloping in Florida. The home is single story and sits atop pylons which provides covered parking for up to three vehicles. Inside, enjoy a spacious living area with two futon couches, a recliner, and a Smart TV that overlooks the beautiful water and backyard. The large kitchen offers all appliances and needed items such as pots/pans/utensils to make light snacks up to full meals and a Keurig + full pot coffee maker. Seating for 6 is available at our dining table or kitchen bar, or step outside and enjoy dining al fresco at the picnic table that overlooks the canal.
The master bedroom features a king bed; the second bedroom has a queen bed; the third bedroom has a twin bed; and we have two futons in the living area to round out sleeping for 9. Two bathrooms offer a shower/tub combo in one and a garden tub in the other.
Enjoy two stories of covered deck out back which overlooks the water and our boat dock. There, you'll find ample seating, a ceiling fan, a charcoal grill, and a picnic table.
Just a short stroll down our private backyard takes you to our dock. There, you can tie up your boat as well as fish the canal. We even feature a fish cleaning station right by the dock. There is a boat ramp at Keaton Beach about 1.5 miles away. Or for smaller boats (up to 18 feet), you can use the private boat ramp at high tide that is just two docks down. The Gulf is only 200 yards down the canal.
Primary renter must be at least 21 years old, sign a rental agreement within 48 hours of booking, be present for the duration of the stay, and agree to a $500 damage deposit hold. No smoking or parties allowed. Up to two dogs are allowed with a pet fee of $100 for one or $150 for two.
Guest boats are welcome. Due to the high/low tides and the natural environment, only boats that can draft in 12" or less can be utilized in our canal. Anyone bringing a boat will need to monitor low/high tide schedules and depending on departure date, should be prepared to take the boat out of the water before a negative tide. During the stay, boats can simply sit on the canal channel during a negative tide. Our boat will likely be on property but that is not included in the stay. Do not swim in the canal. A fishing license is required - $25 for a weekend.
When you want to get away from it all for some peace, quiet, and relaxation to enjoy family and friends, Heron House is the ideal location. For the fisherman/woman and those who love scalloping, you'll find no better location. With the Gulf just 200 yards down the canal and Keaton Beach (which boasts a covered pavilion and a long fishing pier) nearby, it's a paradise for water lovers.
