Family Vacation
Cozy home just a short walk from the Good Hart General Store, clothing boutique, and a decor/tea and coffee shop. Beautiful drive along the tunnel of trees leaving Harbor Springs to the home. Two different beach accesses approx one mile from the home. Good location to visit Harbor Springs, Petoskey, and Charlevoix. Would recommend doing a Charlevoix sunset cruise with Sunset Charters! We also went on a morning tour on the Original Soo Locks Tour in Sault Ste Marie (very interesting), and spent the afternoon on Mackinaw Island.

Comfortable and Relaxing
Annette was a great host. We arrived much later than planned and she made sure lights were on so we could get in and settled. The house is lovely. It was perfect for quick local trips as well as a day trip to Mackinac. All the extra touches made it so nice. The beds were very comfortable. The linens were soft. Everyone enjoyed discovering all the little knick knacks around the house. We were sad to leave and would definitely stay here again.

As more questions
First time renter from VRBO .Appreciated the outdoor porch at the back of the house and the home spaciousness for our group of five ; location to lake front. Surprised at some of details ie no option to open windows, bedrooms Doors that did not latch, Grill with only one burner working,. Christmas deco out in July, house directly on corner of main highway and internet wires ran under area rugs. Would ask more questions before I booked another VRBO.

Disliked: Check-in
No privacy
If you were concerned about privacy in a neighborhood you have never been too, I would rethink this place to spend your time. There are no blinds in the kitchen window which faces directly to the the hosts house where anyone can see everything you are doing in the house at most angles (kitchen, dining room, living room) especially at night . All the blinds that do exist have missing pannels so therefore you could see through to the entire living areas. The only place in the house that I felt comfortable (with proper privacy) are in the bedrooms. The host lives directly across the street and her friends live behind (where you could also see through the sheer curtain display for the sliding glass door that leads to the patio). I felt very uncomfortable at this house at night time. I’m a female and was alone for this trip so not having privacy at night really made me feel unsafe. I felt like I was being watched the entire evening. I was very uncomfortable here. I also had an encounter with the host that was very awkward- I asked for some assistance about a beeping sound coming from the electric fireplace and she showed up at my door without any warning or heads. I would’ve been fine with a detailed text or phone call. Instead, I was forced to have a conversation with a stranger in my nightgown at 10:30pm. Worst experience ever.

Cozy and comfy
We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Bikes are provided by the owner for a ride down the road to the beach. It is on the main road however, so we had some noise that we didn’t expect. If you want groceries, get them before coming to Good Hart.

THE BEST STAY EVER. ❤️ Genuinely.
There aren't words, or enough time, to discuss how awesome these days were for my family. Couldn't ask for a better family vacation, honestly. The place is centrally located to tons of trails and public protected lands and beaches. The water is just... Otherworldly. And the rock indentification?? INCREADIBLE. We're a family of geology nerds, so this place was a whole dream come true. We built a puzzle, made awesome grilled meals, and had campfires. The little general store next door-ish is adorable! Amazing books, and people. FANTASTIC pot pies you can take and bake. So so so good. Annette was attentive, informative, and super kind to us. Her home is beautiful, and has personal Michigan touches all over it. It's kid and dog friendly, and within 1 mile of so many things to do. The beds and towels are great, and you have a fully stocked kitchen at your disposal. As a professional chef, I can honestly say, I didn't need to use a single piece of my own kit, while staying here. With a really great washer and dryer combo, just off the kitchen? Couldn't be better set up for enjoying the nearby beaches you'll have access to. We would 10/10 stay again if we're welcome. And we'll remember the time we spent there as a family, for the rest of our lives.

And absolutely excellent experience
Done quickly and easily online, the property was everything is listed and then some. The property owner/manager Annette could not have been more nice and accommodating. The property itself was incredible extremely nicely laid out with all kinds of extras and things that they had in the house to use I haven’t found in very many locations. Anybody even thinking about coming this direction, should considered signing up for this property,

Quaint "Little" Village
This house is just around the corner from the most unusual town, a general store and two quaint wonderful shops. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. The master bath was new and very large. The bed comfortable. The living room warm and welcoming.

Great location for exploring and enjoying Michigan
We had a lovely stay at the Woodland Retreat. Annette was a wonderful and helpful host. She greeted us right away and was available when we needed anything. We had 4 adults and 2 kids in our group. The location is right on the Tunnel of Trees, which is gorgeous, and also the main road into Harbor Springs. We were within walking distance to the General Store, which is nice, but not open until 10am- a bummer if you need breakfast. (Annette saved us with a couple of eggs one morning so we could make pancakes.) The best part was close access to the semi-private beaches which are an easy bike ride away done the road. We really enjoyed swimming in lake Michigan without dealing with crowds or having to go into town. The home is very nicely decorated, but for those with active children, the number of breakables may be a concern. The master bedroom suite is spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The kitchen and outdoor spaces were functional, comfortable, and with very nice furniture and fire pit area. There is a small building in the backyard which is separated by a small fence, and occupied by a renter, however they were quiet and not a problem for us. My only complaint was that the double mattress was very uncomfortable. I think this is worth an upgrade.

Clean and cozy house in Good Hart ❤️
We really enjoyed our stay in Good Hart! The house is very clean and cozy. We cooked most of our meals in and the house had all of the tools we needed. We loved the location! I was able to walk down to the beach a couple times, we enjoyed pizza night at Pond Hill and it’s an easy proximity to Boyne!
