"We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. Nice large dining table to play games on and scrapbook for those of us that don't fish! Location was good but I didn't realize what a "private lake " meant. Hence there was no place to put our boat in to fish on this lake. This is on me. The hostess was very helpful and finding us other options on where to launch our boat. Outside of an inconvenience it wasn't a problem. The area was very peaceful so would recommend if you would like a quiet stay."

"Our stay was lovely. Property was very clean and the communication with the hosts was excellent. A few moments required communication with the hosts and they were extremely prompt and also followed up to make sure everything was taken care of. We were a little bummed the docks were already taken out for the season, but given the time of year we visited that’s not surprising. The property was perfect for family walks and the time of year made leaf diving very fun for our toddler son. Also it was very close to good restaurants, and the hosts provided us excellent recommendations! "

"My mom, two daughters and I had a great time at Northern House! The house was immaculate and the welcome package of snacks, cold waters in the fridge and ice cold mugs was fantastic. The kids loved the arcade area and playing board games on the gorgeous kitchen table! The kitchen and bathrooms were well appointed and nothing was missed. We watched 2-3 deer twice a day cross right in front of the large picture window in the living room. I had hoped that the kayaks and paddle boards would still be out, but understood given the cold night temperatures. Sunsets and stars were amazing over Meta lake. Would love to come back late summer and fully experience all Meta Lake and Eagle River has to offer!"

"We were ten adults and seven children under the age of 12, including an infant. The place is huge, with a lot of space for getting together or spreading out. It has a ton of seating options for eating and board games. The game room was a hit with everyone and is separated enough that the kids could get loud without disturbing anyone on the other side of the house, including the baby. The outdoor options: private playground, large hot tub, firepit, and pier were excellent. The house also sits on a hiking trail that we took advantage of in the peak fall colors. There is not much going on in the town of Phelps, but Eagle River is nearby with great restaurant options. We struggled a bit with the patio doors but figured it out (pull UP on handles like the signs say). We celebrated an early Thanksgiving, and the kitchen including double oven, was perfect for preparing a big family meal. This is also important, as others have mentioned: the listing says 5 bedrooms, but the house has only 4 private bedrooms that have doors. The fifth bedroom is a common living-room type space with a bunkbed and two couches in it, and there's a pullout bed in the theater. I did not read the reviews well enough and this would have been a dealbreaker for us if we had understood correctly, as we wanted all adults to be able to have a private bedroom. We had to get a second rental because of this, which was okay. Still had a great time and look forward to coming back. Great memories. Thank you! "

"This cozy cabin was exactly what my husband and I were looking for, easy access to UTV trails, amenities that we were able to come back after a day of outdoor fun to relax and do some cooking! "
