NEWSTEAD COTTAGE WAS VERY WELL PLACED FOR TOURING THE AREA.
NEWSTEAD COTTAGE WAS VERY WELL PLACED FOR TOURING THE AREA. WE HAD TO REARRANGE THE KITCHEN EQUIPMENT SO IT WORKED BETTER FOR US , ALSO THE LIGHTING AS IT WAS NOT GREAT. I LEFT SEVERAL ISSUES WE HAD ENCOUNTERED IN THE BOOK PROVIDED. NOTHING MAJOR AND NOTHING THAT CANNOT BE PUT RIGHT IF THE OWNERS CHOOSE TO DO SO. THE MAIN ISSUE WAS THE KITCHEN TABLE WHICH HAD SUCH BIG CRACKS IN THAT FOOD HAD LODGED IN THEM, THIS WAS NOT ONLY UNSIGHTLY BUT IT WAS A POTENTIAL BACTERIAL PROBLEM. I WAS RUNG BY THE OWNER WHILST ON MY WAY HOME AS SHE WAS SURPRISED AT THE ISSUES RAISED. IF OWNERS DO NOT WANT TO CONFRONT ANY PROBLEMS, THEN DON'T INVITE THEM. I MADE IT CLEAR THAT THESE THINGS HAD NOT SPOILED OUR HOLIDAY.

We found Newstead Cottage had everything you could possibly want and attention to detail was better than any hotel. It was clean, comfortable and home from home. The welcome gift of tea, milk, biscuits, crisps and even a bottle of wine was much appreciated. There is a private garden again with everything thought of with a choice of seating. sun umbrella etc. The local village is so pretty with a good range of pubs, cafes, fish and chips and ice cream. A good base for touring the Moors and surrounding area - we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and it was the cottage that made it special as we felt so at home there. Would highly recommend it.

A lovely, spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage. The welcome pack (including the wine) was a lovely touch. The garden was a delight to sit in. The cottage is in a good location for trips to the coast or to York. The neighbours were friendly. We would recommend this cottage and hope to return again one day.

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage is perfect for four people with room for everyone. The attention put into the cottage is remarkable, comfortable sofas, well equipped kitchen, two well-functioning bathrooms and lovely beds for everyone. Add to that a wonderful garden with two seating areas. Last but not least, the owners are extremely helpful from start to finish. It was an absolute joy to stay at the cottage!

Newstead cottage was fantastic and had everything we wanted and more! It was so clean and comfortable, it was a real home from home. The selection of books, games, jigsaws and dvd's were a perfect unexpected addition. They kept our children entertained for hours... and us too. The cottage is just a short walk in to the centre of Thornton with Cafe's, chocolate shop and the ice cream parlour, which the children loved. We would highly recommend this cottage and we will be back again in the future.

Superb cottage, very comfortable with excellent furnishing and decoration. Very friendly owners. Good location for visiting the Yorkshire coast and the villages and countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorks Moors. Thornton-le-Dale is a lovely village with a Greta café and bakery. Will have no hesitation in returning to stay in Newstead Cottage.
