Here are a few kind words from our past guests:

"Great stay located about an hour north of the cities. Plenty of room for all our guests, and the beach for the kids was a plus. Easy lake access for those with boats and good fishing. Would recommend and stay again for any type of gathering!" - Justin

"Fantastic location and amenities!!! Our large family stayed to celebrate a 70th birthday. The ample space fit us wonderfully. The added creature comforts of AC, Wi-Fi, two ensuite main floor bedrooms, and separate upstairs rooms provided some privacy as well. We will be back!" - Laura

"Great location for a large family gathering. While we went in the winter, we got the full winter wonderland experience with tubing and playing on the frozen lake. They have a wonderful deck with a grill that we did utilize. We missed out on the opportunity to use the inviting firepit but opted for the cozy fireplace inside. The house comes with everything you need to make yourself at home, and stores and groceries are less than a 10-minute drive. Definitely worth braving the cold for these Floridians." - Marjorie

Great stay
The house is spotless and super easy to navigate. The communication is excellent, and I always get a quick response to my questions. They’re really accommodating, too, with early check-in and late checkout options. There’s even enough parking space for my boat, and I can even charge it there. If you’re looking for a cozy mini getaway, I highly recommend this place!

We had a good weekend but the house needs a serious cleaning. From the ovens to the dusty floors and blinds. The manager was great with responding to us about an issue we had. Very roomy and relaxing for our large family.

family time
It was a wonderful place for my siblings and family for our annual gathering. The place allowed us to spread out, have our own rooms and the grounds are spacious as well for outdoor games and fires. Overall the interior is nice but if. you look closer (kitchen cupboards, closets) they are in disarray. The pontoon was nice to have to get on the lake, but it is very slow and pretty beaten up.

Our Stay
We grew up going Up North to our family cabin with a beach front. The cabin was sold a number of years ago because of parental age/health issues. We rented this cabin for our family (kids/grandkids) as well as my parents. We chose this cabin for the size, the beach front, the pontoon, and the fire pit. The pictures of the house were not current as it was not as crisp and clean as shown (many splinters) and we spent time cleaning the pontoon and beach area; however, the kitchen and living room were wonderful for our family. I would suggest organizing the closets and cupboards but that is just my opinion as I find that to be an important part of all of our VRBO stay.

Fun Family Weekend
Our family spent the weekend here fishing and just hanging out. The kids had a great time in the bunk rooms and the beach was perfect for playing in the water. Our dogs were thrilled with the lake too! Plenty of places to sleep, but not a lot of privacy for adult couples. My husband and I shared a room with his brother, awkward! I wonder if the previous guests or the cleaners had trouble before we arrived as the door was left unlocked. We were a little disappointed with the floors, they were not cleaned up from the previous guests (sand & dirt on hard surface floors) and the organization in the kitchen took some time to get used to. We would suggest a cabinet/pantry area for food storage when we are there as everything we brought had to be kept in the counter or small table in the hall. If you need a great outdoor space for family/friend gatherings, this place is perfect! Kids and dogs loved the yard. We had a fire in the pit, played lots of catch and football in the yard, fished, swam, etc. Great opportunity to have fun!

Perfect place to hang out with family.
This turned out to be a perfect place to spend a mini vacation with my kids & grandkids. The house is comfortable with a perfect layout. An open concept kitchen with all the kitchen utensils & tools we needed were there and plenty of dishes & glasses & flatware. BBQ on deck. A big plus for us was that we were able to bring pets and the property is large enough that they could play outside without being distracted by roads and other animals, so they could enjoy being out of town too. Beds are comfortable. AC is really big a plus. Smart TV. The deck was great because it has two tables and is just nice and large. Adirondack chairs on the lawn with a really nice fire pit. Great view of the sunset and we happened to catch the full moon too. No bugs to speak of, but probable because it's so dry right now. Lots frogs croaking. We were all very happy staying there. Andrew (VRBO owner) was really helpful. I'm a novice and needed some hand holding.

Perfect family lake home vacation
We took a family vacation for 5 nights on May 2020 with our adult daughters, their husbands and two elementary aged grandkids plus two dogs! We decided a lake home vacation was safe with the current pandemic and the home was well cleaned and a welcome respite to leave the news behind. The location was conveniently only an hour from the twin cities. The lot is private and quiet and very large. The views from the house are stunning. The lower bedrooms are roomy with their own bathrooms. The upstairs two bedrooms are good for parents with kids, and they use a full bathroom on the main level. The kitchen was nicely set up with a full lake view, has a gas range, double ovens and full fridge. It’s connected with the living area. The deck was well used and spacious enough to change seating to three separate areas with a gas grill there. We set up our own volleyball net, croquet and lawn games, and the yard was beautifully large and accessible by the lake. we used the fire ring for fires and used the pontoon one day. We brought our own motor boat as well. We loved our time there, felt very comfortable, and Andrew was so helpful and kind.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disappointing
Pros – Beds were clean and comfortable. The house is spacious with good sized bedrooms & bathrooms. Very nice firepit with plenty of chairs for a large group. We sprayed the yard for mosquitos and did not get eaten. Damage deposit was refunded in a timely manner. Andrew was responsive to questions. Cons- Curb appeal is not good. Landscaping is overgrown with weeds around the house and under the deck. As you walk in the back door entrance the crawl space for under the house is open and we did see mice. There are spider webs everywhere, ceiling fans were very dirty. Kitchen cabinets had been spilled on and were not cleaned as well as the wall behind the stove. Inside of microwave was dirty. Holes in the ceiling were they must have removed light fixtures and didn’t patch the holes. There were a lot of dead bugs on the window sills that had not been cleaned off. Outlets in the bathrooms didn’t work. The pontoon worked well, but it is run down and was dirty. Could probably rent something nicer for a cheaper rate from town. Not stated on the listing, but wood is not provided for the fir pit. Things to know that are beyond the owners control. – The yard was covered in goose droppings. The lake was awful, extremely green and stunk. Would not even allow our dogs to go in the water. Despite the disappointing state of the house, we did have beautiful weather and had a good time once we cleaned things up!

Very pleasant stay
We went with a couple of family friends and all had kids between 5-10 years old. Has a nice big yard with plenty of room for the kids to play games and run around. Beds were comfortable and clean. It was really nice how the owner provided firewood. We brought our fishing boat that we were able to tie to the dock and had some great catches! And best of all, it was only an hour north of us making it an easy drive for the kids :) we would come back for sure.

Kid friendly lake
Great sleeping arrangements. The 2 bunk bed rooms were perfect to separate the boys and girls. The lake was shallow so we didn’t have to worry much about the children and life jackets. Went 100 feet out from shore and water was only 4 feet deep.

Family Vacation
We booked this property for a family vacation, it was a good layout where everyone felt comfortable and had their own space. There was good notes, communication and check-in process was very easy. The only negative on this property was that it could seriously use some TLC (tender loving care). There were weeds grown up on the stairs, things were damaged from previous tenants and could use a seriously deep clean.

Beautiful Property
Our stay was very nice, the property manager was very communicative and even contacted us after check in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The property does need a little bit of work, a couple boards on the deck are a little treacherous and my dad actually cleaned off the air conditioner on the outside to ensure the AC was optimal. Something to note is the two bedrooms upstairs there is no AC or heating. We weren't expecting that and for July it got a bit warm up there. The trick is to open windows in the back and put the fans in the front windows. Overall my family had a great time! Thank you.

Beautiful view.
The photos make the home look much more appealing than the outside actually is. The inside wasn't as large a the photos make it look. We slid the couch forward so we could all sit at the table because it was so close to the bar stools. A list of the included items would have been nice. Like bring your own paper towels. Not much counter space for anything. Beds and couch were comfortable. No bathroom upstairs. Steep to get into the house. Weird smell when we went in but it cleared up. Overall 4+ stars.

Place didn't match VRBO listing
We were looking forward to a getaway with three generations of family. When we got to the house, we were shocked at the cabin and beach/dock. We stayed at the cabin during the warmest week of the summer, which should not have been a problem. The air conditioning, however, was not large enough to cool the cabin. There were NO vents to push cool air upstairs. Additionally, there were no window coverings to keep the sun from heating the cabin. There are many stairs in the house and leading to the house. The stairs leading into the cabin are steep and without a railing. The dock seems to be pieced together by various wooden and metal pieces. It is uneven and was problematic for a member of my group with MS. This person tripped and fell more than once. Other issues we had with the cabin: owner was non-responsive to questions, and cabin was NOT clean upon our arrival.

Wonderful stay at the lake...
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at the lake over the 4th of July holiday. The house was as described and perfectly suited our needs. The tweens and teens enjoyed the upstairs bunk rooms while the adults enjoyed the downstairs bedrooms (one king and two queens worked out perfectly for our sleeping arrangements). The main living space was comfortable and well-equipped, with ample seating, lighting, and space to accommodate various activities. It is a lake house – there will be a few bugs and it smelled a little musty when we first got in but everything was in good working order and generally clean. The outdoor space was equally great: large yard to play with our pup and a game of cornhole, firepit, kayaks, and beach area that made getting into and out of the water very easy. While there are areas of lake grass around the lake, Andrew does a nice job of ensuring the area around the dock is clear for swimming and playing. The water is tea-colored, but that makes for a good science discussion with the kiddos. The water was shallow and we were able to walk out well beyond the dock, making it perfect for families with kids. We enjoyed watching sunsets, grilling out, and having dinner on the covered porch. It was less buggy than our stays at other lakes, perhaps due in part to the breeze but there wasn’t any standing water to draw the mosquitos either. It was a quick drive into Pine City to get to the store and we also enjoyed takeout from Lotus Thai Cuisine. Overall, a great stay!

Annual Family Lake Trip
The three family getaway with the kids and dogs was ideal with this property. The 10 of us from pre-schoolers to grand parents were all comfortable in this two level house with 3 full bathrooms and plenty of seating for playing cards and eating. The meal prep area, grill and kitchen amenities served us well. Ample parking and a huge yard to run the dogs and kids to the lake with a gradual slope to allow littles to enjoy with the older cousins. A/C and all utilities worked just fine in the hot first couple days and sleeping was comfy as well. The lake offers a variety of fish and we found them for the kids, no problem. The sunsets from the large deck over the lake were great. It is a quiet retreat on a dead end road with no traffic nearby and plenty of wildlife along the driveway for a walk or photos. The hosts were easy to contact and responded to all our inquiries promptly.

Island Vacation Family Weekend
We stayed the weekend after several inches of rain causing the water to rise and go over the driveway, into the parking area and campfire area. It sounds like this is unusual circumstances. A silver lining to all the water is that we had a beaver eating off of a fallen tree in the yard which was fun to see. We enjoyed kayaking down the snake river to Pine City as well. The house fit our family of 9 nicely. We enjoyed meals around the table as well as relaxed in the spacious living room and yard. The cleaning was just okay. My son turned on the ceiling fan in the bedroom and large dust pieces fell onto the bed, for example. Also, the water was gold/rust colored which could also be a result of the high water. If the cleaning and maintenance crew could have a day or two to fix things that have been neglected this could easily be a 5 star VRBO. It is a beautiful house and location.

September Week Rental
We rented this for about a week at the beginning of August and the house was great. Despite the lake being very green we still took the canoes out to enjoy the water a little. The house was excellent and fit our entire family well. The house did have a strange smell when we first came in but after opening all the windows that dissipated.
